Another glorious day in the Bay.

Morning walk on beach with my lovely lady already done!

A few hours of study out of the way!

What shall I do next. Hmmmm...

Awesome bus trip up and looking forward to this afternoons going back. Nice to be on a bus where even those drinking do not get an attitude. It's been fun fun fun and an extremely worthwhile exercise. Fever bus to Auckland?? We love you Barbara we do..........

Disappointing result 0-0, but still a great day. Not drunk this much for many years. Saturday, Sunday & probably Monday.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Bus trip to Auckland?  Patrick, Hatter - legendary TV3 Celebs in the making. The bus trip was the best bit of fun I've had for a long long time. Thanks Boxey & Smithy for making it happen. And thanks Barbara for getting us there and home again safely.

That was gold. Shortly afterward (I think) he tweeted "I'm joining the yellow fever when I eventually hang up the boots #fact"
So he was loving it.

"Yellow Fever spokesman Guy Smith, 33, of Wellington, says no one is in charge ................

Smith, who'll arrive here with his girlfriend and her children, says the Yellow Fever is "very family friendly".

"We're sociable so many people bring children," he says of the contingent who'll converge at the The Station bar for meals and drinks before the kickoff.

"We're not boozy types - don't get me wrong, some of us love our beers - but we don't have to be drunk to chant."

Also my missus was miffed that all of a sudden she had "children". "A child" is bad enough...

By the way, in my defense, I reckon we are bloody family friendly and I'm keen to get that message out there. We're not a Sevens crowd and I think a lot of people reckon we are. Even Feverish has mellowed out :)

I'll know I've been successful when Marius makes a comeback to the Zone.

I couldn't agree more, as you know I've been taking my girls right into the heart of the Fever Zone for 5 years, & due to the fine people in the Zone, I know they are safe at all times, & people will look out for them.

Group Hug !

p.s. I don't mean that I use the Zone as a baby sitting service, & I certainly wouldn't want anyone else to do that.

Same with Junior News.  He's been there since day 1 and while he's certainly big enough to look after himself now there have been a number of times where I've looked after him about as well as a banner but others have had him sorted for me.

There were two others with the polish on.

I think the perception that the fever zone is full of pissheads comes from when a few were spraying beers all over everyone in the early days.. It has since evolved into a solid base that has matured for the most part. It's great to see the younger people singing their hearts out along with the adults. To be honest I had a few drinks on this trip because it isn't often I let what hair I have down. I don't think i annoyed anyone or caused trouble but that was one hell of a good time. On the bus, At "The Station", everyone was so chilled and having a good time and the children of some were very well behaved.

family club? Yes, Family club supporters? Yes. Long may that continue. I'd like to be able to bring my two along one day but at 2 1/2 & 14 months it's just a tad too early.

I is conflicted. Jnr Jnr wants to join the zone, Jnrette doesn't.

Result = zero displacement.

Meh, as long as parents know there will be bad language in the zone.

For a lot, it's probably one of those things they want to try themselves without kids, to see if they find it acceptable.

I also don't really want to tone down, change the way we do things or get evil glares because there are kids around.

So yeah, I'd encourage parents to try it first, then brings their kids. Everyone is nice enough, so it'll be acceptable to some but perhaps not to others.

As for what the zone is/should be: this Taradale muppets thought we were sevens piss up for sure, which is completely untrue and they looked so obviously out of place it was embarrassing. But at the same time, we have to be careful not to go too far the other way to being completely family friendly, that we perhaps lose our edge. We need to find that sweet spot in between.

Pretty sure we found that edge in Napier. It was spot on.

The shirtless muppet at the front of the Zone with paint on his back has become a staple of Home and Away games (see: Auckland, Dunedin, Napier).

Yeah I was saying at the game, you can always pick a local at these games, they're always exactly the same as that guy. That's not to say all locals are like that, just the ones who treat it like a sevens party zone is usually local.

Am trying to remember if we got people like that in season 1, and the zone as a whole kind of stamped it out over time. But honestly can't remember, can anyone else?
