I'll give it a C-. Does the job, but the design is below average. The jagged outer stripes and the asymmetrical neckline are awful. Prefer the Reebok stripey.

Hmmmm.  OK I would give the old stripey an "A" and this one a "B+".

The Reebok stripey was the strongest looking brand in the league, and was pretty unique. Well at least there are still some stripes there.

On the pre-production sample those yellow patches on the front of the shoulder were black.  Much better in yellow.

My only dislike is the move to a more neon yellow.  I prefer traditional wellington gold.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

From updated DoomPost article:

DoomPost wrote:
Phoenix fan Norman Gruebsch, 35, of Pukerua Bay, said the new jerseys were "ok", though he liked the old ones better.

He would not be buying one for his 16-month-old son Lukas. "Its just a bit dear."

Now I'm no Grandadi, but did I predict, or did I not, that the DoomPost would find some way to drag today down? Add to this yesterday's non-story "SOME DUDE SAYS TERRY FELL OFF A BARSTOOL" and it's clear what the agenda is.

From what I have read on facebook and the Sydney FC forums, the Sydney fans are jealous that our adidas kit is so much better than theirs.

Rapt with the new kit. Real sharp, bold and bright, no collared, shrinking violet(blue) stuff here mateys...
Bodes well for a similar attitude from the Nix this season perhaps? 60 days and counting.. COYN!!

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

Its funny how 5 players were present at the launch and only two wore new stripeys. Yes, Ifill, Brown and siggy were wearing JUST the track suits. No stripeys underneath. Siggy kindly showed that sneakingly to some bystanding fans when asked to show his stripey.

Indeed you're not, but you are a young woman of formidable talent and incredible vision. The Dom is indeed peopled with anti-Phoenix scribblers. Can't they go somewhere else and develop some real journalistic talent (e.g. Fox News)?

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Fortunately don't need to replace 'The Suit' as it still ties in nicely...

"It appears on the Replica Phoenix Jersey, the badges fit within the yellow stripes but on the authentic version(Hull city kit) they are in-between the stripes"

A-league logo and phoenix crest being too far apart is discussed on other footballing forums. 'I' think it has got something to do with 'Three stripes' concept. Now is the time to compare our new kit and Hull city 2011-2012 kit.

Well, all the FourfourTwo pics seem to have the yellow in the shirt balanced out to the last years 'golden yellow' colour, and the fact that only two of them wore the shirt might mean that the 'Nix plan to have the same colour as last year butt hey're just waiting on Adidas to make them correctly?

Would think that the neon yellow is what we'll get - it's the same as the track suit yellow.

Ricki, Tim Brown and Ben Sigmund are all Nike-contracted.

Ifill and Durante are with Puma.

They were all rocking their sponsors' shoes.  Leo of course in adida$.

Why the hell did they put 2 different shades of yellow on it? Looks kinda odd.
Other than that, brilliant... Shame about who is making it though.

The new kit DOES look cool. The big poster have fluro(ish) stripes. Dont think they inteded to do that but it was probably supposed to be a 'glossy' look? (me thinks)

Actually - I don't get all this hate about adidas for the Nix shirts.  We aren't being charged $220 and the kids shirts are more expensive than last year but not excessively.

As Smithy has mentioned there are YF options and probaly some cheap old season stripeys if you look around (didn't the Tawa outlet stores have them cheap a while back?).

As for kitting out the kids - how about a supporters polo first (that's how we started: $35 each)?  Plus flags, clappers, caps, thundersticks... could probably do all that and still be short of $120.
