New stripey. My old one is absolutely fine after 2 years of wearing it constantly.

The Sony 'sticker' on my Stripey is starting to show little cracks all over itself, is this happening to anyone else?

Sony products don't last very long these days do they?

The thing that annoys me, is that the sticker isnt even needed. Why not make the black box part of the design of the shirt itself (reverse black box of doom?) and print the SONY white text on top?

Not very aesthetic if you find yourself without a sponsor, is it?

True, CCM's kit looked rubbish until they got their sponsor, now it looks pretty good. However, Sony signed on fairly early on, and if my memory serves me correctly the SONY logo was on the kits back at the Midland Park launch.

Yeah, but sponsorship in sport is a fickle thing, and you can't take it for granted.

Btw, I do agree that the stickers are a bit tacky and would personally prefer something printed too, just saying that I guess there are practical reasons for it.

After digging through the club website, I found these two articles that confict slightly. When the kits were launched, they had the Sony logo on them, and this was included in all the promotional material for the club. News article here. But the Sony partnership wasn't announced offically until two months later. Link here.

I understand the practical reasons for it, but the whole sticker concept annoyed me, even before mine started wearing off.

At least we don't have the same problems the Tards had, where the sticker started peeling off after only a few days.

Still haven't really gotten an answer to the original question I posed about the new jerseys and numbers/names that people have had done at RYOS.

Are there any particular care instructions when it comes to washing a shirt with transfers and how durable are these transfers expected to be in the wash?

Anyone got photos of their shirt with transfer?

And are many people getting this done anyway or do most just wear it off the shelf?

New stripey just purchased, excellent assistance from nice lady at RYOS shop. Thank you!

We have brought it home for tomorrow's game, but they say to take it back on Monday for name and numbers, which only take 4 - 5 working days.

Given the "new" Adidas Kit was launched 10th August pre-season last year and the season is over for us in Wellington , does anyone know why Wellington Phoenix gear isn't shown on the Adidas NZ Website under football and the only Partners mentioned under Football are Auckland City FC ?? Considering this was first year with Adidas, it was amazing to see how many people wore the new stripeys to games. Adidas must be laughing. Must admit that I never bought the Reebok stripey but I do have the Adidas one.

Will there be a new style stripey next season? Or will we be on a 2 season or more cycle for kits perhaps?

Why am I not surprised.   I thought Lotto sponsored the ASB Prem team gear?

I'm curious whether it's an oversight  by Adidas or a deliberate marketing decision as part of a strategy to enable the local competitors and existing stockists a fair slice of the market for Nix Gear, which would make sense. With the introduction of the Adidas shop and a gigantic web presence there's certainly an opportunity for Adidas to dominate the retail space locally.

Don't get me wrong, Phil and the crew at RYOS do an outstanding job for us and so do other local stockists of Nix gear...and sounds like its going to be even better! ^ cheers Tim.

A principle sponsor not even mentioning their Nix sponsorship in the local market website nor having it on their site at all (that I could find) just seemed unusual.

Canerbury, Waitak and TW are the only teams sponsored by Lotto, what's strange is that Auckland City wear Nike.

Should carry an advisory:

Do not wear while eating pasta or curry (or kebabs, or pies).

Let's hope the  gear will go to big enough for the average beer guzzling, pizza splashing big guy. The average old football fan as well.

On the Rebel Sports website in calls it "Semi Fitted"

Probably means it will fit around my neck, but not my relaxed stomach muscle.

Yep, never really liked the "all black" shirts (even if they were designed by some of the players for charridy).
