No idea where GSR's Brazilian father Jorginho is currently living (GSR's parents seperated when he was young), but he was in Hong Kong up to at least 2022. So yeah a loan deal to Chiefy's club could be chance for GSR to spend time with his birth father.

Kiwi, Marco Lorenz plays for HK club Eastern. Well he was last season.

Jorginho ventured to Asia, making 3 appearances for Pohang Steelers in South Korea's K League 1 in 2002, followed by a spell with Maccabi Petah Tikva in Israel in 2005. He spent his final playing years in Hong Kong football, with Sun Hei in 2005–2006 (7 appearances, 2 goals) and Citizen in 2006–2007 (40 appearances, 12 goals) across various leagues and cups, including the Hong Kong First Division and Premier League.

After retiring as a player in 2007, Jorginho became a coach, holding a B Coaching Licence and acquiring Hong Kong citizenship. He managed Citizen from 2008 to 2014, overseeing 99 matches with an average of 1.60 points per match, and later served as assistant manager there until 2022.

GSR was back in Hong Kong very recently (may well still be there) so there may be something in that - Although going off social media the players seem to have scattered far and wide around the world for the off-season, so could equally just be enjoying his time off with family and all that.

Marco Lorenz has left Eastern btw - I believe he's off to J3 in Japan. I might cover that off in his own thread in the Kiwi Players Overseas section though.
