Just once... can you give it a rest. We get it, the Nix didn't give you a personal phone call when the license saga was happening to tell you how it was going and you feel they take too many games away but you sound like a broken record. I actually can't remember the last time I've seen a positive post from you I'm surprised you are still following the team!

Come on, be honest, although not a BAD jersey, it is hardly an inspiring one either. I guess the proof will be in the number of jerseys sold. Perhaps the sponsors advertising interferes with the actual design? I appreciate the club sponsors do of course put the sponsors logos on there. I wonder if they have put them on it as part of the background design if that would have worked?

It is as much of a broken record as someone preachIng the gospel. Perhaps taking a neutral view and consider the good, the bad and the ugly might serve up a better response?

I don't peach the gospel either, I'm just more realistic, we are NZs team. We had to take the games on the road both to try increase team appeal, FFA wanted us too and to make sponsors happy. The shirt is to appeal to more than just Wellington fans hence the black and the NZ map. I think you will find the shirt sells ok.

I just find moaning over these same things isnt going to change there mind and we have all heard these issues over and over. So instead of either loving or hating the design of a new shirt. He is bring up things that he doesn't like and can't change.

Celebrating March 2007 rather than August 2007,  which is now awkwardly placed in the offseason.

Whether people like it or not, the Nix ARE a NZ team. Last time I looked, Wellington was in New Zealand. Yeah, I get the whole preciousness about the Wellington thing, and support it to a large extent, but it's hardly the end of the World. So, people like myself, and others, who don't live in Wellington aren't allowed to support, or celebrate, the Nix? I think, as Nix fans, we really have got a lot more to worry about than the fact there's a New Zealand map on the anniversary shirt.

Oh, and for the record, I think the shirt is honking but that's nothing to do with the map, and I don't expect anyone to care about my opinion or let it stop them from buying the new shirt.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Actually having a better and more close look at it, it is kinda growing on me, except for a few names on it I and probably others would like to forget.

Jag, Ballane was not suggesting you should not be supporting the Nix. I get his idea, we are a Wellington club. Should all australian teams have put an outline of Australia on their jerseys?

Having said that, upon reflection I wouldn't mind one with Lonegunmen and "10" on the back. I do think the sponsors logos could have been a lot smaller and down the sides of the jersey so as not to distract from the main picture but yet still show themselves.

Exactly. We're a 'Wellington' club, who happens to be in NZ, not the other way around like the Warriors in the NRL.

There's no way in hell Australian clubs would do that, unless the 9 of them have something similar all at once.

P.S. Can this kit now be referred to as the 'Spaghetti'?

We are the ONLY NZ club in the competition. I'd imagine that if there had been more than one club from this country, the NZ thing would not have reared it's ugly head. As such, the Wellington Phoenix is the NZ presence in the A League, whether people like it or not. The Wellington Phoenix will still be the WELLINGTON Phoenix, regardless of whether the anniversary shirt has an NZ map or the Bucket Fountain on it. Personally I don't think it's a bad thing to be inclusive of the whole country considering, as I said earlier, there are people like me all over NZ who have supported the Nix since Day 1. They'll still be based in Wellington, still play most of their games in Wellington and still be called the Wellington Phoenix. It's a map on a shirt. That's all.

Maybe I should start praying that the Auckland City bid comes true, so I can save myself money on plane fares.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Can I just point out the YF logo... We have had the NZ map on it for much longer than this 10 year shirt. (Also already had a YF tee with NZ on it as well)

I really don't get why this rustles jimmies.

It's not the only jersey being worn this season, so its not like its being shoved down anyone's throats.  We are the only NZ Team in the league, hell we are the only Pro NZ team.  Its still the Wellington Phoenix with or without that picture of the country behind it.

It's the 10th year we have been NZ's only Pro football team, also its kinda bitchin except for the cut off edges.  And its not like its black and silver or blue red and white, its still yellow and black, Wellingtons colours.  I don't really get the anti-attitude.  It's also magnitudes better than that hobbit strip we wore.

Sorry if i have offended some people with my post that wasnt my intention and i certainly understand those who support the Phoenix from outside Wellington and respect their opinions.

However i reserve the right to hold true to my feelings that the club was started as the Wellington Phoenix and despite being a travelling circus to this date that is still our name. Dont try and tell me that had it been Christchurch Phoenix or Auckland Phoenix that some of you wouldnt have been as passionate about it staying that or you wouldnt hate the continued increase in travelling home games.

Have to put my hands up and admit that part of my frustration this season our 10th sees 4 games away and some pretty shabby treatment from the club despite their claims that they are dealing with fans better. So that along with the crap about the Phoenix fund and the bloody Phoenix continually sending emails imploring me to buy this membership or that membership despite the fact im a bloody foundation member who has current membership.

As i have said elsewhere if they want to turn us into the travelling Phoenix while i wont be happy thats fine just dont try and sell it to us as the Wellington Phoenix then continually threaten us about crowds. They asked a lot of the fan base last year  and got it back in spades and i for one dont think they have paid back that support by any measure.

Jag i  have never questioned the support of those outside of Wellington and i acknowledge the steps some take to support them but it must also be admitted that those people are supporting the Wellington Phoenix.
