Hadn't picked up on the half and half detail on twitter. I'm unsure of it but can see the appeal. Think it the bottom pattern bled into the top a bit, maybe that would do it? Not sure. I like the spray paint effect though and that the sponsors are the right colours. They've done a good job this off season have Dynasty!
I like everything, except for the spray paint line. To me, it makes it look like a warm-up kit instead. I wouldn't mind seeing a version with a solid line instead, but it's not heinous. My third-favourite of the three options this year

At first I found the asymmetry of the sash a bit confronting, but the more I look the more I like it - "bold" is definitely the right word. I think the spray-paint effect works because it softens the edges, so personally I prefer it to a solid diagonal.
Why oh why did they change from using Trade Me?? Rip off postage and I can see by the low prices people have turned off. It's a shame because this is probably their best design apart from that Lord of the Rings one a few years back.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

It's not just postage, there is also this buyer's premium crap they add on. image.png17.84 KBI realise the clubs hands are tied here and had very little say in the matter. The league probably signed a deal to auction shirts exclusively. Flight of the Nix podcast's Alex said there was a MWS office in Melbourne but that no longer exists. So shirts would have gone there instead of having to go to Amsterdam and then back again to those winning the auctions here or in Australia. Hopefully next year clubs will be able to use their own platform or it won't be worth doing these charity auctions until it changes.

So stupid. I hope this is used as an example to never do something like this again. Honestly wished the Nix used a bit of creativity to get around it, like auction off a Ronald McDonald kid drawing and get a shirt "free" with it.
People need to contact the club and complain. I got an email reply to one of my posts on FB complaining about it. They dont wont me to share the email but basically they did it because the APL have an arrangement with the rip off licensing people. Also when they auctioned the Pride Jerseys half of them went off shore and Trademe cant be used overseas. So basically they value Overseas fans over local. Just another example of the Phoenix not really getting their fans. So dont just moan here complain to the club because unless people tell them things wont change.

Seems like a bit of an own goal for the Nix in that case. I assumed it was forced upon them. Of the 33 shirts on offer, 13 of them currently have leading bids outside NZ. 3 for the USA, 1 for France, 1 for China, 1 for Italy and 7 for Australia. At the end of the day it just means less money will be going to charity because of this misstep.

how does it mean less money will be going to the charity?

Im aware of a few people who would normally bid on these shirts but have decided not to because of the add on charges. So its less money because their bids would have pushed prices up which in turn means more money for the charity.

fair, although the counter argument is tha it's opened up the shirts to the global market, increasing the opportunities for offshore bids, which increases liklely bids!
Sorry to cut in. Just wondered have the men or women this season played in the black shirt with the yellow on it? I really liked it but just wondered why I feel they haven't played in it once so why is there this 3rd kit?

They’ve used it once or twice each. The reasoning it exists is because the home kit has one sponsor, and the away kits have the other. We have to split the sponsor’s 50/50, but if there was a kit clash (I.e. we try to wear our white away kit vs Melbourne City), we would have to balance things by wearing the home kit away and our away kit at home.
Instead of this, the club decided that for home games we would only wear our home kit, which necessitated a “light” and “dark” away strip to ensure no clashes.
The white kit is our main away kit and the black and yellow sash is a 3rd kit for when there are away game clashes.

i am in this group have every charity strip since forever spent many thousands of dollars supporting the clubs charities but not this time. the club could of just given certificates of authenticity with the shirts. i did not buy one of last years charity shirts as i was not financially able but a nice member of this forum gave me one for my collection and i am very grateful that they made the offer.

You could be right. I went through to see where each bid had been placed. The country I've listed first is currently winning. Could all change on Saturday.image.png54.53 KB
