Yep, if you look at their NPC kits on their front page, they aren't based on their public templates.  I have no inside knowledge, but I imagine we will have a hand in designing something 'bespoke'.

Just the same process as you'd go through for any bit of design - Welnix give Paladin a brief, Paladin do some mock ups and Welnix pick what they want. And as Boxey says, Welnix should have greater say and control over the outcome.

Going with a boutique place like Paladin would actually mean they could do a third kit by competition relatively easy too - if they wanted.

Of course this risk is that you end up with something that has "laser kiwi" on it.

I think they are an Aussie outfit so hopefully will make a bespoke striped or similar for us, not that rugby league/Victory version though please.

From what I understand, the whole point of going with a boutique outfit is that it would give the club a greater input into the design of shirts in a responsive timeframe, rather than having the templated kits by big outfits who don't see you as a high priority.

Saying that I think the Adidas kits we had were generally pretty awesome, although the away kits were a bit repetitive

Same, i always wished we would be a bit more daring with the away kits, something thats not white or grey

When they go daring they make the hobbit promo kit.

I know this will be pillaried as a Football Snob view, but I'd always prefer an Adidias kit to a Palladin kit...

If it's a good kit, i'm happy, not a snob at all (As long as Jim's Plumbing isn't plastered over the front of it)

Oh 100%. I know I fell in love with the club from our great Adidas kits so going to Paladin is definitely a sad time for me.

Intrigued by Domey's response to whether it was stripes again. Big hesitation and then says "stripey-ish". Sounds fun

I have nightmares about us playing in the spikey. Worst kit since the Star Trek pre-season get up.

Worst proper kit*

But yes, you're right.

If we're talking absolute worst once off kit, the Australian World Cup bid one was pretty bad.

without reading this thread - do we know who the strip provider is?

There is a strong feeling it is Paladin, but hasn't been confirmed yet. On the podcast, Domey said we should see something in a few weeks in time for the FFA Cup.

Other part you've missed by not reading the thread. It's assumed they won't be using templates on the website but that by the company being a smaller company than Adidas. The Nix will have more say in the design of the shirt.

We will wait until the kit is released to decide if this is a good or bad thing :)

Domey's response to 'does it look good?' was...tempered. "Well, I like it!"

Are we definitely not renewing our deal with Adidas? I was kind of hoping to see a yellow and black version of Ajax's 18/19 away kit.

Stripey-is could mean something like Mike's Athletico Madrid kit from the season just gone.

It means literally anything but simple, vertical-travelling stripes on the body.

It's Paladin.

It will 100% be worse than the adidas kits (which were basically perfect imo), but if it gets us a better deal I don't care if we play in a paper bag.

Yep same but would still prefer a stripey bag.
