Dam HN thats another illusion shattered. Would love to hear the real story on the broken toe as it may not have been the football injury we were all told about.

Can't believe the 4-4-2 belief ratings put the Pistone and Killen rumours ahead of the Halstead one.

and all 3 appear to be lagging slightly behind Lochy (the monster not the fullback) being filmed by the Beeb, Elvis being sighted in a coma in Hamilton, and the idea that Winston Peters is an honourable man who should be trusted to do right by NZ football

I think as Hard News mentioned. Thinking logically.

Mulligan would be an option. He must be ready to come home. Is he still on loan at Grimsby town?

Ivan V as well. Although less likely if he is still getting decent money in Europe.

Chris James. I think he would still fancy his chances in Europe. I rate him as a player. He would be great in the nix though.

I am sure they are not just going to sign local players. The more they say that, the more I know they are thinking big.

If we build it, they will come...

Error prone, aged crock.  I've sent his CV on to Anthony Lee and the rest of the morons that ran the Knights.

That's the funniest thing I have read all week.

well if it's between Pistone and some out and out right back from Hawke's Bay, I reckon go with Pistone

I'd take the out and out right back from Hawkes Bay

I agree with BigTobz...the right back for Hawke's Bay would improve the Phoenix defensive line.  I have seen him play and all I can say is he is an impressive player!

We need to find someone soon so Christie can finally play at his full potential in his rightful position as a midfielder!

Sign Robbie Hunter up I say!

Problem with looking in Aussie is that the better, experienced CBs (someone like Stephen Laybutt) are already playing in the A-League, or with the winter leagues over will be a couple of months without any game play.  Maybe NSW Summer League or Queensland State Cup might have someone.

One option might be Antun Kovacic, who had some games for Melbourne in A-League v1.0.  Another could be Peter Eleftherakis, the Olyroos defender, though I think he's more of a left-side player - I think he was on trial with Port Vale for a while - not sure if he's still in the UK.

How bout getting Marcus Stergiopolous from Oakleigh Cannons?   He's there with our favourite getaway driver...

Got to assume so, along with Aaron Silva, David Moya and Pato Almedra.

Check you phone by the way, and send me an email.

Have you seen Robbie Hunter?! He's a younger version of his older brother, and if you know who that guy is you would realise that Mossy's position in the team is well under fire. Granted he isn't Italian, but as a Hastings born chump I'm sure he would attract a sizeable amount of Hutt trash...

Agree that that is a recipe for disaster, but I suspect the reasons may be salary cap driven more than a belief that this is the ideal option.

I wonder if the option of getting just one player using what ever is left after the contract pay-offs for the 2 Brazilians.

As a football optimist (you have to be to support Hull City) i agree with the post above that Ricky may well spot something in a player that other coaches have missed, or that there are players out there who have matured since the other clubs recruited their centre backs (who those clubs might in fact be happy to sign now, if the had a bit of room in their squad), finally if we accept that centre backs work as a pair then it is possible that a player who would add a great deal in combination with Dodd would not be seen to link so well alongside the style of the other clubs' better centre backs.

There may even be a parallel with a premier league club picking up a certain centre-back from a relatively crap league like the MLS.

The Adelaide paper (which is prone to just make up stories) are linking former Adelaide player Kristian Rees with a move here.

The source is unreliable, but he sounds like the sort of player being talked about.  I'd say

Wasn't Dodd overlooked by the other A-league clubs? He's been one of our most consistent players, so I think we need to trust Ricki.

Maybe its Milcevic, Tony P's brother is his manager apparently, he's talented but yeah he's a bit of a cock, Ricki will have to sort him out in that repect. Better choice than a no name state leaguer

Played just the one game in Melbourne against the Victory.  He played out of position at Right back.

He's a good player but he's another midfielder which we're not really short of.

One of the commentators mentioned that it was rumoured that dutchman Michael Reizeger may make a geust stint at the Phoenix.

I never heard about that until the commentator said it, anybody know anything else about it?
