Hate to be the first to say I don't like it, but..... I don't like it. I spose I just prefer shirts that don't have stripes, like a main colour. I liked the fact we were black last year too, looked flash.

And wait till you see the back of it. There's a big black box where you will put a number in (for extra I guess) Looks silly imo.

Yes it's on the shelves in CHCH since last Friday!

Oh surprise surprise . Strip. Yes look out for the black box on the back. If anyone wants I can send some up to wellington if you give me the money

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

Yep, FIFA have said every club and national team has to have a solid colour where the players number appears on a shirt, to stop referees making (even more) numpty mistakes.

I like the strip, however aesthetically how are going to see the players name if it is hidden in the stripes? Ofcourse we will know who it is thats playing on the field but i've always liked the look of being able to see a clear name and number on the back of the shirt!

White printing on the black stripe will be fine but white on yellow will make my eyes water!

how come shirts are available in christchurch before wellington surely the majority of supporters are from wellington and they should be able to buy the shirts before or at the same time as other places not a week or two later.

So Iï¿½m going to the new kit media release. Anyone got any questions for me to ask? SO far the possibles are:

What is the kit manï¿½s take on the new strip? Does is get clean in a cold wash? Is there shrinkage?

TB ï¿½ Do you find the new stripes slimming?

AD - What do you reckon George would think of the new kit?

Do you think Karl Dodd would have stayed if he knew we were getting a new kit?

What are you doing with the old kit? Can I have it?

As you can probably see in my avatar, it even affects teams in the lowly Scottish 1st division

New shirts will land in Wellington sometime later this week. Our new store is getting refurbished and should be open in a few weeks. Membership packs are being mailed out later this week and will include a $25 shop voucher. So support the club and buy the new strip from us by using your voucher.

I asked on another thread whether I've understood correctly that with the voucher in the new Entertainment Book for $50 off one item at the Phoenix store if you buy another that costs more, that this means when I buy my new shirt I can get $50 off my son's one. Am I right about this please?

Presumably can't be used in conjunction with the $25 voucher though ...... I'd just have to buy something else as well!

looks like New Brighton's old strip from Chch before they were merged, and well, we were never any good....

As long as they don't go hoops, the bumble bee tag gets a bit old...

The old strip was a decent one, you could wear it casually around, this one is a bit in your face.

I don't get why people are making a big fuss about chch having it first because there's wont have a sponsor on the front. if we wait then they will.

I think the away top isn't as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.

Someone fire that journalist who made that headline. Obviously hasn't seen hulls new kit and it blatantly says in the story that we aren't trying to look like Hull so why does the headline make it look like we are.

not really making a big fuss just asking a simple question.if you do not ask you will never know.

would be good to have one without sponsor and one with so you can have best of both worlds.

If it's an ugly sponsor then buying the one without it would be a smart move.

If there's one thing that gets me excited about season 2009/10 - it's the new kit.

And I'm pleased the Nix will run out in a striped kit.

Therefore, I'm pretty disillusioned with comments like "I don't like that mock up. It scares me" or "what a f**king horrible strip" regarding this new design.

I mean really. Do yourself a favour and have a look at the club badge. Apart from the Phoenix - what sticks out? A shield with f**king stripes! A club badge with lots of stripes = a kit with lots of stripes in my opinion.

Some of you have grown attached to our old strip. But I have no sympathy - even for those (me included - well the mrs actually) who parted with the $130-odd to buy it. Why? Because it was f**king awful.

It was vulgar.

Let's all enjoy a kit that we can all be proud of.

One other thing - this so-called Hull link has me mystifed. Last time I checked Hull's strip/tigers were orange.

I never even bought old strip cos I wasn't a fan, could do it. This home strip on the other hand, is great, I willl definitely fork out osme hard earned recession tainted dollars for one or two....Nice work Phoenix, hopefully this shirt will become a Wellington icon in years to come.

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

Indeed. Very poor headline imo (re Hull). Even the stripes have gone this year (well, pin stripes remain).

Congratulations Tony P and the rest of the team for showing some great flair and creativity. It's a magnificient strip - easily the best in the A-League - and a great advertisement for the Phoenix and Wellington. Just hope you can now nail down a good sponsor, and the two or three players we desparately need to help the Phoenix with performances on the pitch that match the new, exciting strip.
