The more I see the new strips, the more i like them.

I think with a sponsor they will look another 20percent better, especially on the alternate kit.

The alternate kit kinda reminds me of Boca Juniors or something...Im sure it will all grow on us and we will all realize we couldn't care less what they were wearing as long as they're playing exciting and winning football!

Except maybe that NRL team wearing fluro pink...too far IMO!!!

Thanks for clarifying Tony P.  I had suspected that it was too good to be true - stupid me for buying the Book before checking first (wasn't going to get one this year until I saw this). I presume the key word on the voucher is "complimentary" to describe the merchandise item that you get (ie you can't choose it)??  I'm not surprised (and a bit relieved as well as I was also concerned that the club could end up losing lots of money on this as it coincided with a new strip launch). However I don't think the wording is very clear on the voucher, and I think there will be a lot of people who will have made the same mistake as me, and many may not take it well I fear!

Hopefully the complimentary merchandise will be worth having (and not be just one thing) so we don't end up with lots of gnomes (or whatever) for all the shirts (they look great by the way) we'll be buying in my family!!

The black box is horrible though..they should have just copied NUFC and had  the top half all black instead of black box in the middle...the players names will still be hard to read now.

They're not bad actually.  Check TVNZ news tonight, might have sample shot of a named shirt.

Absolutely love the home kit. Exceeded expectations, I can't think of it being done better. Easily the best kit in the league.  I do hope we use name plates though rather than putting on individual letters- as in, the un-numbered kit will have one black box, but the numbered ones will have two.

The away kit exceeded my expectations too, but I expected it to be crap. It's slowly growing on me, but I wouldn't have chosen it myself.

Don't like either, but if they win games and score goals I couldn't give a flying f**k if they played in the nude.
On that subject nude would be ok as I already own the strip

I like the home strip, I find the alternative a bit ugly but would have prefer it to have the yellow stripe diagonal rather than horizontal as well as a bit thinner.

Its growing on me already, I'm starting to love it. Hopefully we get a good looking sponsor and the back doesn't look to bad without numbers... Or i may have to drop mine into champs.

Away is alright, pretty simple but it won't be worn too much anyway.

This is getting me pumped for the new season!

Can't say I want the one I buy to look like that, it would be nice if the club had numbered ones.

Away would be fine if we still had Sony as a sponsor. Just looks strange without though - i'd prefer a vertical or diagonal thinner stripe. But eh, only going to be wearing it a handful of times.

Makes it look better because it doesn't just look like a box waiting for a sponsor. The current away kit is very Boca-like but it has a huge black outline which I don't like and it's not on the back. Without a sponsor it just looks silly. A sash/verticle stripe would look better

Well if not that then what would you have for the alternate kit? Obviously it was going to be white but it couldn't be all white because of comparisions to the national team etc. Maybe thin pin stripes or something? No idea

I love the kits we have

The white looks distinctive and if you look closely there is a demarcation on the rear, yes it needs a sponsor but surely you need to convince yourself you will have one otherwise what is the point of playing this game ?

I love the stripes, I love the white end of.

I'm proud to support the team wearing those colours.  I'll be more proud once we make some genuinely aspirational striker signings.  There is a chance to send a message here and I'm hoping that - like the strips - they take the chance to make the statement that they want to be the best in the league.

...but I have digressed.

I'm going to shift all strip discussion to angst at this rate.

I do really like the home kit, except for the black box but obviously it's because of FIFA regulations etc. It's done bloody well for a Reebok strip.
