From how much we hear about him, I honestly thought he was approaching 30

He debuted for the AWs as an 18 year old whilst at the Blackburn Rovers Academy, so he has been around for ages.

I remember him and Tuiloma being standouts for the u17s. Payne an attacking midfielder and Tuiloma an exciting attacking full back.

He spent time with original Phoenix school of excellence even before that when he was playing NZFC for Waitak.

Staff is reporting we signed TAHW. Good signing and hopefully he is over last season's injuries

Phoenix have confirmed it

https://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/news/wellington-phoenix-sign-versatile-all-white

Signed him on my road to glory career mode in FIFA 19, put in a solid shift for me in League two and League one.

Let’s hope that translates to real life in the A league.

How long before we find out about our next visa player?

Nix seemed to imply another signing on twitter yesterday. We'll see I guess

Exciting!  Maybe we slightly lack a bit of X-Factor but keen to see what this squad can do, and there are still more visa players to come.  A lot rests on Davila I guess, and whether McCowatt can step up a level.  But to me this is the kind of Phoenix squad I've wanted to see for ages.

Presumably Louis is going to be our right back?  Possibly need another body there.

Walter Scott also covers RB. Not sure if there's any more experienced players available there though. Callan Elliot obviously as well.

Louis was having trouble with his recovery from his foot injury last season. Hopefully he's back in training but I haven't had a chance to go down and see.

When I last saw him before his surgery he reckoned he'd be back in full training "ahead of the FFA cup game" so take that timeline as you will. Haven't heard an update since.

Used to see him at the barbers downstairs from work a lot but haven't seen him for awhile so I guess he's training hard rather than just hanging out with mates.

Intriguing looking squad so far. Kind of feels like a whole new team so it'll be interesting to see how it actually comes together but it has made me more excited about an upcoming season than I have been for ages

Probably cuz it is a new team. Only Libby, Rufer and Taylor started the Play Off loss to the Victory.

He and his brother own it, believe only his brother works there day to day though.

We could do with looking at Palermo's squad. Released pretty much all of their players after getting relegated two tiers from Serie B. Some fantastic guys in there with top tier experience in positions we could do with - like Ilija Nestorovski, Ivaylo Chochev, Radoslaw Murawski

Um... Yeah? I mean obviously it's a big turnover in numbers alone but we've also signed a bunch of guys who haven't played in the A League before so they're more of an unknown quantity in this context. It's not like we have just picked up a bunch of A League journeyman who have done the rounds already

Not sure if Brockie's name still being thrown around but would we rather want him or Bevan if we go for an import wide forward and midfielder.

If we are going for recycled Kiwis who trialled, why not give De Jong another shot? He was great in the Handy as well as the NSWPL. EDIT....just checked other thread. He's already got a job!

Apparently we've already said no to Bevan. Wouldn't be a massive fan of Brockie either, would be scraping the barrel.

I've already said it, but if we re-sign Brockie I will refuse to watch a single game this year.

Not sure I'd go to that extreme, but I'm another who won't even crack a smile at any possibility of Brockie coming back to us

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

No sign of Houtkoop or Molano at training by the looks of things (don't know if its been reported already that they're gone)

Looks like the 17 signed, Waine and Semmy?

I've counted 19 people - makes me feel optimistic!

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Can't see any goal keepers there or Fenton.  So outfield squad + a few extras still

Looks like it might be Semmy obscured at the back.

Ok L to R - people help me out here:

?, Aidan Wivall (S&C Coach), McCowatt, Taylor, Tom Scott (Lower Hutt player), Devlin, Elliot, Walter Scott, Ball, DeVere, Davila (obscured), McGing, Rufer, Semmy (obscured), Waine, TAHW, Sotirio, Payne, Cacace.

No sign of Sail or Marinovic, nor Fenton (still injured?).

I don't recognise the No. 3 far left, but think he's the only unknown to me there.
