Huge game. 4th on the line, its all in our hands.

Get every person you know along to the game, its gonna go off.
Hoping for 15k.

I'd say keep the same line up but Bertos for Caeceres.

Can't wait

This game against GC CCM is the most important game of our history. We better not give it up easily just because it's an away game we've made the play offs. Junior822010-02-07 23:30:48

i've got  a real dilemma.

Just used my last voucher to get a stripey for me (no kids sizes for my nephew).  Trouble is I should wear my lucky Phoenix City T for this important game.

But I do like the stripey.

But Nix have never lost at RoF since i've been wearing the T.

But I do like the stripey...

Phoenix City T.

Nothing, absolutely nothing must change for Friday except it better be a fine day with 15k in.

Silly question really. Regret is the worst feeling :P

It is what I had been tending towards (the T).

Seems that is what the call is for and I don't want to be responsible for us not getting to 4th place and a win at RoF.

May just have to wear it in town on Friday and change into the T after work.

To T or not to T, that is the question....

Go with the Stripey, Junior. Would be kind of funny seeing YF chasing you and burning it after the game if the result doesn't go our way.

Hope we can get 15k+ on friday night to cheer the boys on to victory. And then 20k+ the following sunday!

Junior - go with tradition.  I wore a YF tee for the first home game this season and then purchased a stripey a couple of weeks in.  But I haven't been able to wear the stripey to our home games as we haven't lost at yet.

Touche

I'm just glad that it's in our hands. I just hope a big crowd turns up and we don't do the normal NZ sports team choke.

No, Palmy doesn't count.

If we want 15k on Friday we need good weather and all of us out there being evangelists for the Phoenix... telling everyone we know that it will be important, mentioning that Christchurch showed us up, things like that...

Hope Perth defeat Gold Coast first week of the finals and that would give us a home final for week 2 as well. Not to greedy though I will let Melbourne score one of the five goals in the grand final.

We are not there yet! We've got a game on friday we have to win to be sure of a home semi
They might be crap at the moment but please people don't take CCM for granted

True. Needing desperately to win didn't stop Fury, Roar, Perth and Gold Coast all losing this week. CCM will be hard to beat.

We are as good as there! We just need to turn up to get the 3 points thats what I would be telling the boys if I were Ricki.

Ha ha maybe not, if we sit back we could get stung. A draw or loss would surely be a fatal blow to winning the title. I must say the CCM coach is a legend he is releasing  players like confeti. Does he have Wellington connections? Are they going to have eleven players come friday?

Coming down from Auckland on Friday, dragging my Wellington mate along with me. Last time I was at the RoF there was a fellow called Fallon and another called Paston who did pretty well, but I hear that Ifill and Reddy are pretty good as well.

Same line-up, except Caceres could be replaced with Bertos or Dadi, that last spot is the most competed for at the moment. If it's Adrian or Leo, have Crowther, Daniel, Caceres/Bertos and Dadi on the bench. If it's Dadi, have Costa on the bench for Daniel.

You know we belong together...

I say you should offer your newborn's naming rights to the footballing gods in return for a Phoenix win. To be precise: if it's a boy, you swear to call it Ricki (or Paul, or Tim), and if it's a girl... Phoenix is a pretty good name for a girl, right?

Why aim for 15k,how about setting a new club record of 20k,so I don't hear from the Christchurch boys that the Phoenix should move to their place.
I will be certainly pushing people to get to the "Ring of Fire" this Friday, making posters to put up around work and getting on the phone to entice as many people I can.
Lets all do this.

so what's the deal now?
if the jets win tonight and next week, even if we win we don't get a home play off right?

I'm not good with numbers, someone please clarify!

I'm going away with a few lads (for work) from tue-fri. they will be brainwashed as we'll be in close contact for 3 full days and they'll definitely go to the game with me. I'm already txting everyone I know telling them to show up on friday!

Na, if they win both and we win this Friday we'll be = on points, but out GD is currently +13 vs them (I think, +5 to -8 or thereabouts), we'd be at least +14 (because to win we'll need one more goal than CCM) so jests will need to make up 14 goals over two games.  If they did that I wouldn't begrudge them a home spot!

I remember watching the All Whites play Brazil in the Confederations Cup while my wife was in labour at the hospital.

being in a delivery room is over rated anyway. I heard somewhere that they were thinking of banning fathers from even being in the delivery room as they mostly just create problems, i.e. arguing with the wife, fainting, vomiting etc.

all jokes aside, good luck to ya and congratulations mate. Hope you're considering the name Paul as an option...

Tell her you're going to the game instead of being their for the birth. Thatll start a huge argument in which she will get stressed and have the baby.
