Well that was pretty good.
No long ball hoooflah football. Much better.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Paul Ifill is a bl00dy brilliant player, i dont get to see me games living in the uk. caught todays game on the net. He is quality, can someone put a highlights clip together of him dancing around players, i reckon you could probably just about get a 30 min clip together just from this season.

how long is his contract with the phoenix? and forget Daniel playing for the All whites(actuallly i would still have him) get Ifil  a nz fast track passport!

If we build it, they will come...

That was brilliant.

Absolutely superb from Ifill...dribbling past three defenders at a time more than once.

Also great game from Hearfield both defensively and in attack. He's matured into a very dangerous player. Also Tim Brown was great.

Durante and McKain excellent again although less to do this week.

Aw heck, the whole team were good

He looks good against most of the opposition I agree..his turns are readable but most dont seem to do it.  Good detrmined jinking runs.

As I have said before he is step above most others in reading the game and creating chances..and taking his own

He signed for another year with an option for one more IIRC?

www.the-afc.tv

Every A-League game and much better picture quality than justin.tv streams, although you don't get pre and post match comments or interviews.

Agree about Ifill, he has been awesome, today perhaps his best yet.

Excellent...cheers Boro.

i guess if another foreign club wanted  to sign him for next year, they would need to pay a transfer fee to the Phoenix.

If we build it, they will come...

Did one of the commentators almost let a racist comment at the end slip before the other stopped him? lol

Yellow Fever wouldn't let him leave Wellington airport.

f**ken brilliant, I'll be very disappointed if the fever are on here posting any time before 4am. The crowd was a fantastic turn out too, makes a huge difference to the attitude of the players IMO.

Great result! Great crowd! Yehaaaaa! Good on ya boys!

Can't wait to get to next weekend's game! Surely we'll be pushing 20k! I'd say there'll be fans coming from everywhere for it!

I have a question, and I apologise if it's been asked before... If Phoenix win their playoff next week, could we get a another home finals match if 6th upset 3rd?

Oh Wellington!!

Weather let off during second half, passes and ball-to-feet play got a bit better. Mariners had nothing, first shot (not on target) at 38min by my reckoning. Fantastic, dominating play by the Nix.

And Ifill man... hernandez who?

Gloryboys are talking about a charter flight.  Looks pretty dodgy though.

(Bill)  - I was glad that they saw them off by three and not just scrape a one nil.
(Al) - Daniel changed the game.
Me- Crikey! We win by three and 14,000 plus turn up. I like!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Wow, shortest match thread ever - suppose that's coz so many were at the game.

Well done Phoenix, you really turned it on out there - the bow at the end was a good touch.

Atmosphere was better than teh 6-0, turns out 14,328 > 6

So last week we only had to wait for Friday after Sunday, now it's Friday and we need to wait for next Sunday!  Aargh!
