Really, without Moss, Paston, Lochhead, Dura Siggy, Leo, Brockie, Fenton, Boyd and Hogg?

Yes, but it is only the Jets.

Patrick, can you give a couple of examples where new coaches [at a reasonable level] have had to take on an assistant coach foistered onto them by a club when they first sign up?

Yes agree, be good to have back to back week games after a good win to keep the momentum going. Shame the nz games prevents that but hopefully this win will still help bring a good crowd in for the last nix game.

Colin Calderwood at Hibs in the SPL.  Didn't have an assistant for a while when he first arrived, then the club decided to sign up Derek Adams from Ross County (whom Calderwood had never even met).  Needless to say, it didn't work out.  Adams went back to Ross County as manager, and Calderwood went from bad to worse before getting the bullet.  He's now assistant at Norwich City.

I'm sure it's happened in other cases, I can't think of any time it's worked out though.  Maybe Steve Clarke when he was at Chelsea?  Was assistant to Mourinho and was there prior to Mourinho's arrival.

whislt it would be nice, the practicalities are clearly not good, so your comment whilst nice in some fluffy world where unicorns prance and elves grant wishes like players at two games at once, in the real world it's bording on uninformed and pathetic.

Definitely Ryan Nelson

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'd think most established coaches have their own coaching staff [and I've heard both Gould and Greenacre say this in interviews] that they take with them wherever they go. In other cases where their assistant may stay behind nd take on the top job or get one elsewhere, they find their own men pretty quickly. If I was a coach of reasonable ability, I'd insist on picking my own people or bringing my own with me.
