I was laughing about Bertos signing for Millwall as a ball boy.

Great result. Well done Nix. Off to Brisbane and Melbourne for away games now. Interesting body language between Herbert and Durante at end of game, but that's my day job getting int the way.

Paston really doesn't give me a lot of confidence atm. Looking forward to Moss returning. The only poor performance was Lochead, he was just rubbish. Boyd and Fenton are exactly what this team has been lacking.

We deserved that win. Outplayed them across the park, but particularly in midfield.

Brockie, Boyd and Fenton never stopped up front either, total football

Leo got wide very well, one of the crosses worked...

Sanchez offers us more options, thought he took it to them well. Look forward to the combos getting better

Happiest will be Durante, he had a shocker first half, responsible for both goals

Great to get the three points

Good game, and great to come from behind to win.

Could have been a few more if we'd taken shots instead of constantly passing wide. Having said that, I am still well pleased..

Impressed with the youngsters, especially Boyd.

Nice noise from the crowd too.

Be good to get some away points now, and a few more punters next home game.

Lochhead was not rubbish, he was embarrassing.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

What a complete eejit you are. Or, to put it in better words: TWO NIL, AND THEY F**KED IT UP, TWO NIL, AND THEY F**KED IT UP...

Is this the new Nix style? Run at them with Boyd and Fenton until they get tired, then put Totori on to absolutely kill them?

I must say that penalty looked dodge-tacular, but it was made up for by the yellow card spree the ref went on later in the game.

i was at the game, maybe was different on tv. but personally i thought we played great for most of the game as well as being incredibly entertaining. one long ball that i can remember the entire game. it looks as though the team is attempting to play a better style of footy, its only been two games since the whole 'total football' saga began and the change (while not quite there) has been impressive in such a short space of time. any team that plays with that sort of possession deep into the opposition half is going to be vulnerable on the counter, and basically the nix dealt with it well.

Now I know you aren't Spurs, but I was thinking this exact same chant at the game.

Yea, i was there. We have a weak midfield, weak leftback, weak keeper, we can't cross, we can't pass.
but the score covers all this up !

Piss poor game - why is that we look as ragged as Heart when we've supposedly got a settled team ? They've had 5 changes..

That is the difference between this year and last - last year we weren't flashy but had a solid base t build on. This year we are all over the place defensively and Lia / Manny / Sanchez don't seem to know their roles properly. Doesn't help that Manny has been in horrid form all season long too.

Also, Paston not diving again. One of the most frustrating things in sport.

Paston not diving.???? There is not a keeper on this planet that would have saved that free kick.

Not debating that - doesn't mean it's not frustrating after seeing it so many times!

So you do know he dived and made a good save in the second half?

Gareth my old love, if you haven't worked it out yet, it's the Fever that makes it special. For all the doom and angst, we sang our hearts out and sounded like 10k on our own- thanks everybody.

EPIC night!

(and now you're gonna believe us, and now you're gonna believe us....)

ALWAYS REMEMBER- we are the Mighty Phoenix. We can beat Anybody!!

This seems to be the consensus of the 442 commenters as well, which means that nufc is clearly from another galaxy.

Best football ? it was fucking embarrassing for the most part. watch the replay.
Manny was a nightmare, and when the YF have to shout out who to pass the ball to (Leo) you know there is something wrong.
Fenton good
Boyd MOM
Lochhead fuck off

Wasn't the best game I've seen from the Nix, but it was a pretty solid game. Still lacked a bit of flare/attacking strength up front... but was still a well deserved win.

I have to be honest... they pulled through in a game that looked doomed! Even teams in the EPL can't seem to win when they have most of the possession! Was good to see the better team actually come back from a couple of freak occurrences!

Speaking of games... I still haven't heard much from you guys about the Auckland vs Wellington fan match when you undoubtedly come up for the Nix vs Glory game!!! :P

And dare I say it, how good was Vince Lia..?

They parked the bus for the majority of the 2nd half. Really hard to break down, we should know...

Lia was certainly a vast improvement from the last game.  A bit of a heavy touch in the first half but got more into it in the second half.

Last few minutes was stress city, but very pleased with the team performance tonight.

Back from match..frustrating in parts but YF sang them back into action!  Boyd teased them well especially in 2nd half..shame Stein H didnt get on but I guess he has to accept he is down the order now.  Sanchez played well again keeping it ticking over.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Better crossing and set-piece work has been a focus at training this week.

Bertos dug us a hole with his disappearing act at right back - but did manage to get past someone once or twice in the second half. Pleased to see him off the park as Totori was much better value down that side.

Like to see if Lockhead could hit the crossbar deliberately three times in a hundred shots, the pre-match entertainment turned out to be more skillful than him.

trying to dig up passing stats because it wouldnt surprise me if we cracked 500 tonight. Was fantastic.

But we had 60% possession.
22 to 9 attempts on goal
15 to 3 corners

Plus this:

I read in the paper, we are the second lowest passing team in the league.
saw our passing stats from last weeks games and we were pretty high up. definitely improving from early on in season
