Hey SC03, thanks fpr posting those two links. I missed the news, cool to watch the positives.
It must be very frustrating for Ricki to only be allowed the three subs to choose from, I'm sure he'd love to have another couple.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Very nervous about Friday night's game - not because I don't think we can win but rather because I think we should win. No disrespect to the Fury who are a good team with a good culture who battle hard and give nothing away and, of course, they have Robbie.

I think the nerves are a reflection that we are getting in to unchartered territory - favourites to win games and make the play-offs.

I think the hardest battle the team will have over the next few weeks will be in their heads - staying grounded, and maintaining the confidence, focus and momentum as we get closer and closer to play-off football. That's where the experience of the older wise heads (Ifill, Greeny & Dadi) will be invaluable.

I think you could certainly include Durante here as well, as he's been all the way before.  Agree about the nerves about Friday - we've always tended to underperform against weaker opposition - let's hope this can change starting this week!

I kind of disagree, really. I know that is what Ricki wants to happen but I don't think it works out like that. Manny drops back as another CB a lot of the time and Lia + Brown didn't ever get noticably more forward than they have done in the past.

Still think that playing 3 DM's (basically) is a bit of a waste when we have such great attacking players on the bench. Can't argue with 2 wins though..

And yet you still are trying...

If Vinnie gets his 8th card is it a one week ban or two?

I won't be around for the next two games, but I'm sure someone will jump in and do the player ratings / rantings / ravings. I'll look forward to reading them! Hope there are lots of 8s and 9s!!

For me it's a case of sacrificing either personnel or formation.
Either
               Reddy
Hearfield Durante Mckain Lochhead
               Muscat
           Brown Lia
Iffil           Dadi          Bertos
OR
                Reddy
Hearfiedl  Durante Mckain Lochhead
Iffil      Brown Lia/muscat   Bertos
               Dadi   Greenacre

I think we need to leave Greenie out the squad. If he ain't gonna start - might as well go easy on his injury and as we have Caceras/Costa

Dadi called him Richie.

My team:
                        Reddy
Hearfield    Dura       McKain      Lochhead
                      Muscat
                Brown      Lia
     Caceres/Bertos
                             Ifill
                 Dadi

Subs:
Crowther
Bertos/Caceres
Sigmund
Greenacre

Maybe Bertos instead of Caceres, I don't know.  I also dislike playing Muscat, Brown, and Lia in the centre there.  As it stands the one to make way would probably be Brown in which case I'd add another attacking player.  Hope Lochhead plays well like he did last week but if he's rubbish then I'll again be wishing McKain could play left-back so that we could put Siggy, Dura, and McKain in the back (and leave it at 4).  Oh well.  Got time off work for this one so I'm happy.

EDIT:  I'm loving the strength of our squad.  Daniel, who is a good player who I like, isn't even getting a sniff (well, in my line-up anyway).

can't someone else play left back AT ALL? ? ? ? ?

surely ben sigmund could have a go there, or whoever, mix it up so that all four of our strongest defenders are there. how many floating crosses that go nowhere/out or offer notihng does lochhead have to put in before we can try something different?!!?

man we need someone else at left back.  sorry, but we do.

Manny's played there before, I just think Lochhead needs a game off, he's the only one of the all whites who hasn't been rested yet. Maybe he is just bloody knackered (mentally) and is why he is making silly mistakes.

maybe he should do a siggy/manny and swing an arm to get some time off . (I don't agree with what they did btw)

Lochy may not be the best attacking full back out there, but you'd be hard pressed finding a defensve error from him.

In Rickis book it talks about Locheads fitness levels, apparently when Baranowski was here he said that Lochy, even before a pre-season fitness regime, was at the levels required of a Premier League player.
I think Lochy has been good of late though but agree seeing someone else at LB would give me confidence for if Lochy got injured
