Adelaide currently on a 12 game unbeaten run (home and away). Do we dare to dream about a rare win. Or accept we'll stay on 12 points for the 11th round. A hammering is going to be tough pill to swallow.

Who should be benched, any promotion?. Ricki will have a lot of thinking to do....

We'll be very fortunate to grab a point here.

Three for me, and two for them.

Long ball game. 9-1 formation. Sub in the 63rd minute.

No worries.

This is actually the kind of game we'd win. Absolutely written off and expecting a trouncing then sneak a 1-0 win.

In saying that, I'm fully expecting a 3 or 4 goal trouncing.simon_hampton2010-10-17 23:16:27

I'd be happy if we manage a draw....adelaide are looking way tough to beat at the moment, although a goaless draw against gold coast may shake their confidence a little - *hoping*

Start off with 3-4-1-2 like it's a really good idea cos another team tried it once with a stack of different players and a premiership centreback, give Adelaide confidence by making us look sh*te, then sub two players as scapegoats and change it to 4-4-2 and sneak a draw.

This would be my lineup. Desperately trying to get Disco out of the starting lineup. Won't happen though.

Siggy   Dura   North   Manny

                  Lia

  Ifill        Ward      Leo

       Greenie   Pavlova

You do know that Scotland lost playing that dumbass formation, don't you?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

They only lost 1-0 though, didn't they? This formation is to limit damage to our goal difference.

Ah. Gotcha. We played 4-5-1 against Spain though, and lost 3-2. Thereby boosting our Goals For column while suffering the same damage to our goal difference

Fear not faithful YF'ers...(cue spooky music, getting darker etc) my prediction (I WAS SPOT ON FOR THE HEART GAME!!) will be here in a couple of days. Just want to look over injuries etc. A clue though- Adelaide contenders for our unbeaten record? Pffffft!

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Depressingly my expectations are so low for this game that anything better than a spanking will be a pleasant surprise.

Go on Nix - surprise me - front up and play to your abilities !!

2-1

Greenie and Manny with a rare goal in the 93rd min to win it

It has to turn around sometime. Why not upset the league leaders away from home in a place we always suck at?

Against the League leaders you know for sure Muscat, Lia and Brown will all start

Paston
Sigmund Dura Muscat
Lia
Ifill Brown Ward Leo
Greenacre Pav

Can't stand the 3-4-3, they aren't ready for it and the way they are playing both wide midfielders get held back and the central midfielders role is made unclear also.  Needs more work on the training pitch and when we are 3-0 up at home.
3-1-4-2, Lia plays in front of a back four to counter direct attacks and steps into the back line as needed when the fullbacks are pulled wide, Ifill and Leo both play as attacking players

alt and more likely
Paston
Sigmund North Dura Muscat
Ifill Lia Brown Bertos
Pav Greenacre

We are mid table, scoring our share of goals, have lost the player that the squad is least set up to manage without and still beding in formations and new squad members
Plenty of season to go
Given how disjointed we've been so far we may do some serious table jumping if these boys can gel - we are still in good position to mount a challenge.  Took us a while last year.
Go Nix

I think you'd find it hard to drop Ward for Pav. More likely to have Ifill up front with Greenie and Ward out wide.

Would be happy with a switch back to 4-5-1 for this game.

                       Paston
Hearfield Durante Sigmund Muscat
                   Lia       Brown
Bertos             Ward                  Ifill
                   Greenacre

Would like to find room for Pavlovic to start, as I think he has earned a chance with his performances off the bench, but there isnt room in a 4-5-1.

Of the new players this year, he has easily stood out, if only it all didnt turn to custard when he gets into the box

The players keep saying it, and so will I - one performance away where we play near our potential could ignite our season. Unless we smash a team 6-0 at the ROF, I think it will take a brave away win to get us going. Will it comes this week though? I am beginning to doubt...but surely Adelaide's unbeaten run has to come to an end some time?

What I've learnt in the past few weeks is that Andrew Durante > Jade North.

I think a draw would be a great result. Would need a huge improvement to beat Adelaide.

Leckie will be back for this game, we will need pace at the back, thats why I would start Hearfield over Sigmund at right back. Not sure about North yet, he looked decent in the last few games, before the performance on the weekend.
