Up to 15th in a 10 team league...poor effort really...

And we need Perth to beat Noocastle to go to 4th.
lol off topic - but talking about Fox Sport A league Tipping competition - not sure how many playing that but 15th can't be bad. Give a bloke his moments fame eh

That Kruse shouldn't have been on the pitch for the last couple of minutes ,he needs to get a bloody good verbal if he is still around for theBrisbane pussys.

As opposed to Brown, who loses the ball in crucial places, goes walkies for most of the game AND hacks people down when not really needed. So yes, he does bring more to the table than Ferrante.

from what iv seen this season - Lia>Brown>Ferrante

still undecided on where McKain squeezes in there, he has only impressed me in small portions

I'd agree with that, seems to me that Ricky is wanting to bring Lia in as  defensive midfielder which means brown and Ferrante will have to up there game. If Lia was to start I'd be happy, as long as Ferrante is kept from the field I'll be a happy camper.

Feels like a win to be honest! That Greenacre header was Smeltz-esque. A great whipping ball in by Daniel. I agree with those who reckon Lia in for Ferrante(woeful and inept) and Daniel in for Diego.

Kicking myself for not putting a lazy fiver for the draw at half time! We were paying $5. Just shows the little respect Aussies have for us.

Points away and wins at home= top4 potential

I'd agree with that considering the three games this season, but Lia's advantage has been coming on in the second laf when he's fresh and everyone else buggered. But probably deserves a start ahead of Ferrante and Brown who've been poor this season so far.

McKain is easily the best player out of the 4 of them, he's an automatic starter in central midfield.el grapadura2009-08-23 20:12:41

Went to the game this arvo and felt we were lucky to come away with the draw! Roar were all over us in terms of creating opportunities and our defence (especailly Muscat) was shocking (with the exception of Sigmund, hes a classy player)- typical NZ style of play, long ball stuff..AGAIN......we just cant break that mode, can we?

Ifill was impressive seeing the guy in the flesh, has some really close ball skills and Greeacre was busy and enthusiastic but we really need some attacking midfielders cos we just lack composure and creativity....its the same old same old in midfield being dished up!

I should have kept my multi from the Wellington Lions, AB's and added the draw which I was going to take and would have made it worth my lazy fiver LOL!!!

Long ball? With 62% possession in the second half?

Ferrante had a shocking miss, but did he really have that bad of a game?? We dominated the midfield for large periods of that game, did McKain do that by himself??

If we dropped players after every 1 or 2 mistakes like is asked for on the formu after everygame, we wouldn't have 11 players left by round 5.

Aside from the miss, which was a shocker, what did he do wrong?? He passed well, tracked well and was always working.

However, Lia has impressed off the bench twice now so would lke to see him start next week in Ferrante's place.

He was watching the same game as me. A draw was a fair result. It was a game of two harves. Fist to Qld, the second to the Nix.
The big mistake was playing one up in the first half. Too much respect shown in the first 30 min.

Game of 2 halves. Phoenix def had the better in the 2nd half, the fox channel commentors commended the Phoenix game play in the second half. so well done Phoenix. a draw is better then a loss. Dont worry to much bout the long ball game as the Phoenix goals so far this season have been awesome.

You were watching a different game man! We were all over them in the second half, wasn't much long ball then....the only ones were crosses angling into the Brisbane box.

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

Ferrante and Lia to swap next week please Ricki, and the same gameplan as the second half. Sydney have been average so far.

The crowds are a real issue in the league - for some of these clubs (including ourselves) if it does continue there could be some problems

If we were at home, I'd say Daniel in for Ferrante. That guy is useless. Wouldn't have even realised he was on the right side if I hadn't seen the line ups at the start. Then he misses a sitter. Away from home I'd bring Lia in.

Correct. Most people on here think that if the commentator doesn't mention a player then he musn't be playing well.
Ferrante didn't get mentioned, but didn't do much wrong. The ball went through him plenty of times.  Don't judge a whole game on one poor miss.

I'd have Lia for Muscat

Its all the other forums seem to talk about. Especially since Australia is going for that World Cup Hosting thing.

Very pleased we had a decent home crowd first off, hopefully we can maintain that.

I'd have Lia for Muscat

correct
but i still remain entirely unconvinced about ferrante. he has been playing for us for 2 and a bit seasons and has still to make any memorable contribution in any game in my view. His distribution is ok, but not outstanding and he gives away as much ball as most of the others. He has never scored (but bombed a number) and I can only recall one assist in his entire spell with the club, a pass that led to a penalty that Daniel converted against Sydney in season 1. Add to that the fact he was at fault last week for Perth's goal and I think it is well and truly time Lia had his chance.

Agree that he's had a truckload of stunning misses in 2 and a bit seasons, but what I meant is his performance today shouldn't be judged by that ugly sand wedge from 6 metres

We need to get out of the starting blocks a bit quicker ,we were missing in action for the first 20 min for  the third week running, its a good team so maybe  a little less caution and a little more adventurism  from the start.
Brisbane were on the ropes at the death and we should really have twisted the blade, still all in all a good result considering

Incorrect although everyone knows he can't shoot.

Ferrante is just a player YF likes to hate, like Steven Old before him. Meh.

I stuck $20 on a multi of Wellington Lions-All Blacks-Draw (Nix-Roar).

Thank you TAB....I'll be in to get my $154.30 tomorrow.

The crowds are an issue.  I believe player depth is also an issue.  So what are we doing?  Oversaturating the market with unsustainable expansion.  We struggle with these issues last year, so we expand further this year.  Gold Coast has merit, North Queensland I was always iffy on.  Gold Coast is a massive growth area, I'm unaware of NQLD being so attractive.  And to stifle the teams we already have, as I understand it we're going to cut into markets we already operate in and saturate the life out of them too.  There's a reason the NRL and AFL don't add teams every season, there's no evidence to suggest the current expansion phase is anyting other than a doomed strategy.
