surely (unless Iffy is a bit knackered for two games a week - or other players have injury concerns) it would be tempting to keep the line -up that brought us our 1st win after the run of losses
How many times does it need to be said the same lineup can't be kept. Sigmund is suspended.

keeping with wednesday's formation i would prefer;

                 Paston
Hearfield-Durante-North-Musa
                 Muscat
   Bertos-Brown-Lia-Ward
                   Ifill

Ward in for daniel out on the left... why cant ward play there? He went there for the last few minutes, seems to have enough pace, might be the right kinda player to cut inside and play the incisive ball. Certainly cant do any less than what daniel did on wens...

yep agree with the above formation

Also agree, but I reckon Ricki will stick with Daniel on the left. Hopefully he gets back and helps Musa out if he gets the call up at left back.

Keeping Manny in midfield is so key it's worth taking a punt on a young guy like the Moose.

I'd go with this too. If M(h)usa starts to look out of place, then we can move Muscat or Lia back into that role, and bring on a Daniel, or Rojas.

Not that i think that the boy from the mighty W(h)anganui will disappoint for the 'nix!

There is NO chance in my opinion that Ricki will give Musa his first run, out of position at Left Back against the Tards.

Well he is included in the squad.

Even though Ricki mentioned it in todays paper?

Good call.

50/50 chance with Ward and Daniel.

Greenie and Elliott off the bench. If musa doesn't play then Muscat goes to LB, Elliott to DM.

He has been included in the squad before.... and when was the last time ricki took a punt on something

Actually i think this is the first time musa has been included in the squad. Obviously there will be some omissions.

Keep Rojas for mine, less mac.

Ward should definitely be starting ahead of Daniel.

Daniel has a place, he's a good impact player if needed in the last 20 or so, but i personally don't think he should be starting. Ward offers a lot more imo.

No way Musa will play....

Certainly not against Victory. You don't debut a youngster out of position against good attacking players like pigface.

I too would like to see Ward playing wide instead of Daniel. He is one of our best attacking players, he has good speed and vision. I like Daniel but he looked lethargic on Wednesday night.

I'm looking forward to the Ifill vs Kevin Muscat clash. Ifill got hit many times by the Heart.....Muscat will dish out the same medicine. They will be all over Ifill like a rash.....stop him and you shut down the Nix's main scoring threat.

How much time do you think I'll have to run onto the field before security get me?

Definitely start Ward. He will be extra motivated to put in a good performance against his former club

Last time we played the Victory Ward looked very busy and keen to stamp his mark. That is a better comparison than the Dadi/Perth one!

you do this AJ13 I will clap alright when security give you a beating. We dont need pitch invasions stick to the verbals and the banter.

Somehow I don't think it is the pitch that AJ13 was thinking of invading.

I think you misheard "Rufer" for "Musa".

Musa is starting at LB, Troy to RB, North to CB with Durante.  Otherwise same side and bench.

Ooooh, big call. Good luck to the young 'un, hope he has a blinder.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

So....

              Paston
Hearfield North Durante Musa
              Muscat
        Brown        Lia
        Bertos      Daniel
               Ifill

Bench: Greenacre, Ward, Rojas, Vuko

Good stuff Ricki. Hope Musa has a blinder.

Piney knows all.

Which side does K***e play on? I've forgotten. Musa could achieve instant hero status by breaking  both of that twat's legs.

Left Side usually, will probably  have to deal with Pondeljak. It is a big call, and I am starting to eat my hat, did not think Ricki would do it. Hope the kid plays a blinder

Musa looked good against Brisbane in the pre-season. Good technique. Not sure about his pace or how solid he will be with his concentration. I haven't seen him play enough for that.

Thought this had to be why he was in the squad. hope he goes well and we smash the Tards. Though Hearfield strangely was better on the left than he's been on the right...who knows...

Musa starting says a lot about how important it is that Manny plays DM and how much better an option Manny seen to be compared to Elliot.

Big call to start Musa - best of luck to the youngster - having an Aussie international CB pairing inside him and Paston behind should be steadying influences.

For all the sh*t he gets from some I think Hearfield, along with Manny, is the most positionally versatile player we have in our squad  - he looked better than OK on Wednesday on his less favoured side - hopefully a sign his confidence and form are returning.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Lia to full back.

Just saying.

I thought Lia to FB would have been at least the option to cover a back four injury (during the game) which makes me even more surprised Elliot doesn't make the bench and we have 2 forwards.

We will have no specialist defensive cover on the bench at all.

So it is confirmed that Musa is starting?  I hope he does alright - talk about being thrown in at the deep end.  Would love to see us up by a couple and having him and Rojas both getting game time.
