Could be a tough game for him, would rather have seen him on the right. But sounds like he has what it itakes to step up in time.

Think it's important to have Brown/Lia/Manny in the middle for this game because of the fact Melbourne play so narrow. We usually play alright against them because of this. Brown likes playing against the Victory too, it seems.

Musa at LB probably wont be as exposed as against, say, Brisbane or Adelaide. Melbourne don't have too much pace out there except for Mate and Kruse though with Archie back it could be a different story.

Interesting KO time; don't think we've ever had a 6pm start

Petkovic could cop some stick.

I haven't watched many Victory games, but have noticed their use of 3 CBs and think this should play into our hands. Watched the Melbourne derby and was a good example of 3 CBs vs 3 attackers as Heart dominated that.

How do you think Victory will line up?

I am stunned that Musa is making his starting debut at LB.....

Not because I don't think he is a good player but it just goes against every conservative thing that Rickie has done in the past.

I liked what I saw when Musa played for the "A's" against Team W. He looked very calm and in particular has good pace.

Against the Victory our left side defending will be Daniel and Musa. Gulp!! I am sure Victory will target this area. You could not ask for a bigger test on debut then Archie Thompson and pigface Kruse.

You would prefer a left footed player who usually plays in the centre or at left back start at right back?

Sure this is gonna be a tough test, but he seems to have a good brain on him, and wont be focussing too much on attack.

Hopefully Daniel will be a bit more help this week and track back and giver him a bit of support. Also give him the easy pass option when needed.

Good luck to the kid and good on Ricki for giving him a shot he's obviously been training hard and showing he can step up.It hasn't hampered Brisbane this year giving young players a run.You have to start somewhere, he's going to have some very experienced guys around him in Durante and North if it turns to poo we sub him off no pressure on the guy but some good experience

If I were Siggy, I'd be sweating. Remember last season he got suspended, McKain came in and Siggy could barely get another game all season after that. He'll hope that Musa isn't that great, and if he is, then Al-Nassr's chequebooks are still open.

sh*t. Thought he was right footed, obviously LB makes sense then. Sorry boss. Won't happen again. No lynchings :(

Hmm I wonder if Ricki has had Brisbane envy lately?

I mean all of a sudden, hes now putting some trust in his youth. Hope it pays dividends.

There shouldn't be any problem there, Doloras.
Siggy will be happy to see the young fella do well, but Musa ain't no McKain.
I'm picking Lochy may be keeping an eye on proceedings with interest though.

On the other hand, Siggy may be worried about the championship winning North/ Durante partnership clicking again. If they fire up and lock the box down it could be just as you say, a repeat
of last year.

ahem,... imo, the only "clap" likely for the previously mentioned  K***e person,  will be the loud and vigorous one he'll get if the ref flashes a card at him. Yes please ref!

Hmmm... Well sort of. I mean 60 seconds off the bench in two games for Marco and now Musa probably starting.

Perth, had no success with throwing in their youth players.

Do not give away any stupid free kicks within 25 metres of our goal - Brown and Lia, I'm taking to you !!!

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

I think that it's more to do with the fact we now have a youth team playing regular games and he has a chance to see what they can do in at a semi-decent level.

there should be one change that no one has mentioned and that is Paston must go Vukovic is so much better and commanding, Paston is the fault for a lot of our goals conceded....

.
I think we have all underestimated how big an advantage other A-League teams have had by having availabilty to the Youth League.

After two games we are already seeing the advantage of having the Nix A. Musa and Rojas would be not be pushing for a place if they had not done the business for the "A"s".

It will serve us even more in the future to get Lochy and Toto match fit after injury and to keep the likes of Bigmac, Pav, Diego up to speed. A big pat on the back to NZF and anyone else who was involved in setting it up.

Yes, I'm sure he did. And I'm equally sure his last name is Vukovic.

Interesting call to start Musa. He was ok in the game on Wednesday but still made a schoolboy error which lead to TW's goal. I rate him as a youth player but I'm not sure he's ready for an A-League start, still a lot to learn. I hope he goes well but I guess we'll see.

Fuck this stupid game

but he is young and therefore a really good player.   Everyone knows that with young players you only need to throw them straight into the starting line up and the whole team will be better and they will be really good players and the team will win and everything.  Nothing can go wrong when playing youth players - everything can just go right.

I think Paston kept us in the game.
He gives me great confidence, he doesnt dive over them any more like he used to occasionally.

Hmm, a very youthful comment.  Experience does count for something, I hope he doesn't get taught too many lessons.  But if they didn't think he could handle it - he wouldn't have been named as a  starter.
