So llooking forward to this game, my first chance to get down to Welly this season. A bit worried about the defence, although maybe having North in the middle to deal to Archie might be a plus, but who do we play out wide at the back??

Would rather have Siggy in the middle to deal with Archie to be honest..

Really is too bad he's out of this one - we finally get a clean sheet and our defence has to be rotated around again.

gonna be interesting, and unfortunate that Elliot will be back in the middle, he's gonna have to step up his game for me, maybe he will feel a bit more motivated for it now?

And I wonder if Greeny will be back in for Daniel??

no elliot last night, can't see why Ricki would change the starting line up for saturday, unless there is injury or fitness concerns.

I understand Siggy collected his fifth yellow last night.

I'd be loathe to peg Manny back again. He's much better up in midfield. Better than most our other midfield options

Daniel was crap last night, kept losing the ball and giving silly free kicks away, no way he should be in the starting eleven

Would be a bit worried about Marco/Hearfield's side as neither are great defenders, though. Just think that Daniel was so ineffective that Marco surely can't do much worse.

Brown 3 Goals and 3 Assists
Muscat 0 Goals and 3 Assists
Lia 0 Goals and 0 Assists (in fact can someone please tell me the last time he had a goal or an assist)
Ward 1 Goal 0 Assists (hasnt played as often though)

For all the Brown haters, the stats back him up, and he also suits our style of play which isnt passing the ball but putting the opposition under pressure, which is what Brown does well. Our goals come from pressuring the opposition when they have the ball and forcing turnovers and scoring from that. This works well against weaker opposition who havent got the same fluency as the stronger teams.

Whenever we get the ball Brown pushes forward almost as another striker and looks for any loose ball from the long ball we play. I cant say this is the type of football I like to watch, but its what Herbert wants to play and Brown suits that style of play, which is why he will continue to be a regular in this lineup.

There is no way Rickie will change a winning team unless forced to because of injury/suspension.

So the permutations revolve around who goes to RB(assuming North goes to CB to replace Siggy)

For me it would be Muscat to RB and Ward into the midfield with Lia and Brown falling back to more defensive positions.

I thought Ward offered much more out wide on the left when he came against Heart. Daniel seemed to be coasting.

The defender will be suspended for Saturday's home game against Victory and with Tony Lochhead (groin) still a few weeks away from a return Herbert floated the possibility of a Hyundai A-League debut for James Musa who has been playing in the Phoenix reserves which were formed this year.

Herbert added: "Jade [North] is probably going to have to play in the middle now with Dura [Andrew Durante] so who knows, the young boy James Musa might get a shot at left-back.

"He's been working hard and doing things well in the youth team. We'll see."

most obvious thing i can see is elliot in for siggy and muscat at LB.

May see greenacre back for Daniel, but not sure if Ifill will be dropped to the wing again now that Ricki has found a winning formula.

Musa may be called up, think a bench berth would be more appropriate, but maybe against victory is where Musa could handle it.
I mean if hes playing out wide, then he may not be troubled too much as Victory don't traditionally play with width.
Although I havn't seen them too much admittedly

Musa looks likely to be making his debut, according to what Ricki has said. And that also means North will move back into the centre of defence (AKA his real position).

keep same formation/postions as last week, everyone played well. for siggy, move north centre-back and move lia right back, or bring musa left back, move hearfield right back and north central. Muscat played to well in the DM role to be moved back to defence, he's a wasted talent back there. Musa deserves a chance, by all reports hes been playing excellent for the "a" team, so give him a go

hmm yeah despite it being a big risk, I think it could be the time. If Ricki is saying he could be ready, then throw him in I guess.

If things arent working, Have Elliot or ward come in and move muscat back there.

Could be the beginning of a new era for the nix. Rojas getting more time just starts to show the positives of having our youth side

yep, only really need one brute in midfield(manny) we need a passer from the Mids for this formation, I think those 2 together would work quite well, and be able to link in Ward who would then go wherever. Elliott has been stuck with 2 players who seem to be all too happy not to get into space for elliott to pass to them(Brown & Lia). Elliott is a great player when he has other players in space ready to receive ball(to feet). thats what I can see anyway, I'm sure others see it different but meh!!

surely (unless Iffy is a bit knackered for two games a week - or other players have injury concerns) it would be tempting to keep the line -up that brought us our 1st win after the run of losses
