Isn't singing "Just Can't Get Enough" a bit ironic given the fare on offer this season?  Should probably be changed to "Just About Had Enough"...

Ifill sort of played himself back into half decent form just through sheer bloody hard work. Big tick from me.

His battle with Malik was entertaining too. Neither backed down and in the end honours were about even.

Yeh- could see he had a moment after he cut inside where he started to believe again when he was walking over to talk the corner. He looked good.
Gameiro also looks like he can shoot with power and technique. If we could only sign a couple of blokes who are a little taller than Fenton and  strong in the air...! Also- note to Lia, never never shoot.
Any word on Louis- was ropeable on the tackle. Adelaide their usual selves- fouling badly and then rolling on the ground the whole time.

Ugh knew this would be full of negativity. We dominated that game. Adelaide had 2 chances and scored them both. Yes, a lack of finishing cost us and its disappointing we couldn't go on to win it - but sometimes I think people are just being negative for the hell of being negative. Probably even prefer we do poorly just so ya can whinge.

Huh? Where did that come from?

We dominated the game ? If the game started at 80 mins and playing against 10 men, then yes. We dominated that game. Honestly, maybe it's because you watch the game on a weird angle. Have you ever sat on the half way line ? Even just watch the full tv replay then re read what you said.

I actually watched the game from halfway today. We were camped in their half. Adelaide only had about 2 good chances, we had several.

You're right, we should all be out partying the night away celebrating our status as worst team in the league!

I think they had more than 2 chances.  They had a very close one when they were down to 10 men that would've made it 3-1 for a start.

We dominated the last 20 odd minutes, not the entire game.

I think we should've won the game though, today's negativity is more in frustration that we did not.

You must have been watching a different game to the one that most people have been commenting on.

There were other periods of the match where we were dominant, such as the 15 minute period just before McKain got sent off. First half was pretty even but we were on top for most of the second half. They made 29 clearances compared to the 6 we were forced to make.

I can understand that. We should have won, and needed to win, so it is frustrating as hell that we didn't.

Do think we dominated more than 20mins though. Adelaide may have had more than 2 chances, but not many more. And nowhere near as many as we had. Finishing cost us again.

Adelaid threatened 3 times in the first ten minutes, we were lucky to still be in it at that stage

They also had a good chance to win at 95th minute....

So the verdict seems to be were even in the first half and dominant for most of the second and even for the rest.

My maths suggests that is an overall balance in our favour, is my maths wrong?

So they dominate 10mins and that disproves my opinion that we dominated, even though others have conceded we dominated at least 20mins?

I''m with J82 on this one. Only iffy thing is that if 'maths' is considered a plural, then it should be 'are my maths wrong?', but if Tegal didn't point it out I wouldn't have cared.

We had 23 goal attempts to their 12.

13 corners to their 4.

33 balls into the penalty area to their 17.

Galekovic made 6 saves, Moss made 3.

I realise a statement such as "we dominated the game" is subjective but your typically arsey response isn't really justified either.

So what you just said was, the reds took their chances. We had 23 attempts on goal ? Scored 2. Holy Jesus. I love this one - 13 corners. How many did we actually look like scoring from ? Please tell me. Iirc the majority didn't get 2 feet off the ground. You can polish a turd as much as you want etc....

I agree the finishing was poor. And very frustrating we didn't manage to win given the numerous chances we created. Don't think that means we played poorly though.

Yes, but how do you earn a corner? You get the ball down and force them to put it out over their own goal line. That's a good thing, isn't it?
Agree about the finishing though, although those were some cracking saves from Eugene.

I actually thought we were awful against the Heart when we won 3-2.

nufc and Steve-O you guys really are being trolls. There are more than a few posts against your views that we dominated that game. We have been utter shyte since Xmas and you guys whinge every week about wanting the team to turn up and play. Today they did exactly that and they came to play and yet you still fucking whinge? Other than about a 15min in the first half, that game was ours. Their keeper worked harder, they parked the bus, we did not fold in the 2nd spell and we played some good football. No one is saying we celebrate being in last place (but if your view is celebrating the season as a whole, well Steve, you didn't when we finished 4th so you have shown you will never be happy) so I have to ask, why do you come here? So you can find the one place on earth where you are right? Today is not that day. It can be tomorrow but today, you are about as delightful as HappyTed at a Waitak/ACFC pissing comp.

You two will be the first to whinge when you are on fire and the first to whinge when someone pisses on you to put it out. I'm quite happy to risk a ban in telling you two to bugger off to the ACFC knitting circle forum. Today we deserved something from that game and in the context of the last however long, it was a fucking damn sight better than anything else so for just 1 day in the last x amount of weeks, smile and take something out of it rather than being eternal misery guts.

Mods, do your thing.

Look, the only statistic that matters is the score. I love the phoenix as much as the next man, except if the next man doesn't. But I genuinely thought today was poor. IMO of course. I want to see us be the best team in the league. Right now we are the complete opposite.

So much this News!

The most positive thing for me tonight was that Paul Ifill remember that his shoe laces were actually already tied and he didn't need to spend the night with his head down looking at them! A quality and key player he always has been, but to see him with his head up and trying to weave his magic again brings my mojo back as a fan too....! I think it did for some of the other players too! :-)

We drew - meh, doesn't matter now, too late - but at least we had the heart to look like a football team that cared about getting a result, cared about what they were trying to achieve as a club and for Wellington, cared about the fans and wanted to be there! 10 days ago I was in Gosford - all the above points were an embarrasment.....

COYN, see you on Wednesday - unlike the so called supporters that weren't there today because the sofa was comfy..... Less than 5k is a disgrace.
