David Farrar is giving the boys some love over at Kiwiblog, not sure how some of you on here may feel about that. Gollightly (who is a massive c**t) was also giving the boys some major love this morning to!

Have to say though, from that news clip it sounds as though we won against the run of play. Not the impression I get from ths forum or from my sister's match report. Both our goals >>>>>their goal.

They dominated the first 20. They had most of the possession in the first half but didn't have many clear chances. We dominated the 2nd half imo until the last 10 mins when we were holding on for dear life.

Has anyone had a chance to look at some footage of that penalty that could/should have been late in the 2nd half for us? From where I was looked like a Pen for all money but maybe I was mistaken

How having Smeltz sign for the Gold Coast so early in the season sours moments like that a little bit as after he scored I immediately thought "damn we wont have him next year". Also how we will go when Fred leaves and if temporary fixes are really the way to go.

It's just a little disappointing to people that watch a game like that as our 2 best attacking players next to Bertos wont be sticking around.

Oh and how the midfield trio of Brown, Ferrante and McKain played like men possessed.

The best part of that last night was that it was so spontaneous, so much passion running through everyone.

He got the ball... I think it could've been legit... not 100%. It was pretty fifty fifty. (This from a small highlight on tv)

Yeah,  I didn't think it was too bad first look and there wasn't much reaction from the players.

After watching the replay at 6am this morning that second half tackle wasn't a penalty, it did look bad at the game though.  To be honest the best penalty shout we had would have been Boom Boom being pushed over in the first period.

That was priceless, made my whole trip to NZ worthwhile.

The noise and atmosphere was great, and especially seeing some YF members going mental under the stand afterwards. You guys are all legends, never thought I'd experience a football atmosphere like that in NZ.

Great game, was as nervous as hell in the last 10 mins, but what a great win against the form team in the league. Onwards and upwards to the top four from here!

Only whinge was no bloody playing shirts available in the merchandise outlet (if they have some in the shop why not bring them to the stadium?).

Have to end on a positive however, that was bloody awesome and I only wish I could be there for more games. Roll on AFC Champions League 2010 or wherever...cross fingers our eligibility is sorted by then!

So proud right now. Such an excellent VICTORY last night. So many of the team played excellent games and we worked brilliantly as a team.

Unsure about some of the criticisms of Fred though. He is clearly demonstrating his influence in the fact that both of our goals last night came from down the middle rather than crosses. Great guns. Fingers crossed for next week.

[QUOTE=Greek-Boi]There were more then 7k. Under 12s were free and went under the ticket thing.

Are you sure about this??  I did not agree with the crowd figure and need some evidence.

I thought the crowd was up around the 9.5k mark, definately more than 7.5

it did seem like a bit more..
I think that the flyer hand outs may have helped.. But i think word of mouth advertising is the best.. Next home game.. Everyone bring a friend or two. Even if you have to pay for their tickets yourself.

Are you not too convinced about the crowd numbers tony?

Great game last night.  We really took the game to them on the second half particularly.

Officials did not do very well.  I was standing at the end of the pitch in the first half(opposite end to Fever), and someone (Lockheed) put a ball up the line, which was clearly out, and Ferrante carried on playing.  I suspect he fluffed his cross, purely because he was so surprised to let carry on.

At half time, there seemed to be quite some interest in seeing the replay of the penalty shout in the last minute of the half.  From where I was stood, it seemed pretty clear

The ball boys were great :).

yeah Fred gives us an option down the middle, something we sorely lack without him

Or, it was an OK performance, but if they played like that against a team like Barcelona or Manchester United, they'd have been hammered...el grapadura2008-11-29 14:32:20
