Expecting a bigger crowd? Hate to be downbuzz, coz we have got the 3 points, but 5,000 is pretty average.

One of Ferrante, McKain, or Brown. Or keep Dura on the bench and play McKain at CB.

I imagine Merrick will say to Musc**t "stick to Fred like glue and dont be afraid to get a bit physical", think this could open up other opportunties for someone like Daniel or BoomBoom

As good as Daniel was tonight versus 9 men, Ricky aint gonna start Daniel in place of Ferrante against Melbourne.

I expect to see the same side, with Durante in for Dodd

You would hope that the first Friday nighter of the year will bring out a few more piss-heads who'll be keen to make a night of it, plus the fair-weather supporters will be out now.

I'm looking forward to making my first appearance of 08 at this one (my absence thus far is due to being 'geographically challenged'), hopefully a friday night will encourage more travelers like myself.

I cannot believe calls for Daniel to come in. Of course he looked good (ish) against a tiring flank. Only injury will see him back in the starting X1 again in the near future.

Its interesting to note that when Fred came off and we had 3 defenders we scored... Anyway my formation for this week:

Paston
Muscat Sigmund Durante (C) Lochhead
McKain Brown
Fred
Bertos    Smeltz   Hearfield

Reserves:
Moss
Ferrente
Daniel
Christie

I agree with Oska here, definately want Daniel starting and Ferrante's distribution is solid.  Brown the person to fall back to the bench since he's been pretty invisible in the last few games, shake him up a bit with some bench time and he may come on strong.  Hearfield I guess unlucky not to start, but he gave a lot when he came on late in the game this week and Ricki seems to favour him over Costa as a sub forward.

Daniel, Leo and Fred need to be on the park at the same time. We need to take the game to Melbourne - high tempo. If we play like we did today we will get absolutely the flogged - the difference in quality between how they play and how we play is huge right now.

I like the three up front option, we have to be attacking early on and really give Melbourne something to think about.  Although I would put Brown on the bench and have Ferrante starting.

Brown will absolutely play. Since he's been in the midfield we've at least made it bloody difficult for the Opposition to settle. We've had intensity in the midfield and I think you'll find Herbert pencils Brown in before most.

I saw the boys at the pool today. they were all there and all seemed to be in great spirits. Talked to Daniel in the spa pool and I just wanna stress what a good guy he is. He said he loves it here and it's good for his family. We are both foreigners and we both love NZ. Told him that if he liked Wgtn so far, in a couple of years he won't wanna live anywhere else..also Fred seems very modest.

Back to more important things.
That's my pick

                                                      Paston
                                Muscat   Siggy     Durante    Locky

                                          Ferrante McKain Brown Daniel
                                                             Fred
                                                         Smeltz

Hearfield is not a striker. So I don't understand why he has to play up front. I'd rather have daniel in the midfield, playing with Fred and feeding Smeltz, who despite having played some horrible games this season is still netting them!!
Plus, Mc Kain and Brown (and Ferrante) would give us cover in the middle of the park...so why not!

Daniel's not a starter, he gets tired and is much better used to mix it up a bit.

-------------Paston
Muscat--Sigmund--Durante(C)--Lochhead
----------McKain--Ferrante
---------------Fred
-------Bertos-----------Smeltz
-------------Hearfield

I use --- to make it more accurate / better. :P

Fixing the attack problem:
I think a huge problem with us on attack, is we make runs etc into the box, then we all crowd the semi circle area, that plus defenders locks the goal up completely.Michael2008-11-24 17:35:55

To be fair I think part of his job is to be fairly "invisible" and just get things done, but as Cosimo says we need more firepower and flair and Tommos the one who just misses out in my lineup.

...treading even closer to blasphemy...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
