The Nix normally take a couple of games to Auckland, but I can't see any confirmed for this season.

The two TBC games in February are most likely going to be up there, just no conformation yet

I bet that if the Nix are top 3 in Feb, you'll see 15000 at NHS or Mt Smart. Aucklanders aren't apathetic, just fickle.

More delusional.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

20,000 turned out to the first Nix match at Eden Park, pal. It is possible if there's enough "buzz" in the leadup.

Any chance they'll take a game to Christchurch this season?

Would be so cool if they could play in Napier. We were not here yet when they last did that. Any chance they'd come again?

The Napier/Hastings councils would need to underwrite the event, and even then probably no.

Huawei wants some games in Auckland.

To be clear, if it's going to go on the road then I would personally like Napier. Enjoyed that trip last time.

Was it a good turnout for the game?

Road trip on the Bus, it was brilliant. Decent enough crowd.

Unlikely to be a regional game. Flights only subsidised to main centres so the phoenix would have to pay for their flights and for the flights from Wellington for the opposition.

Pretty good crowd [cant recall the pax but the ground was pretty full [16000 capacity I think]. Was a beautiful day, during the Labour weekend when the Napier under 19 tournament was on. Against the Jets [like this weekend] but the game was absolute crap. There were so many new people there and the setting was perfect for some great PR, but the game was so poor that any chance of attracting new fans disappeared. Its been a few years now but I doubt there have been enough improvments or memory loss yet to garuntee a reasonable crowd for a fixture here for a while yet.

I'd love another in Napier since we have to have two elsewhere - 2 at the Hutt Wreck would be good. They've done the ground up a bit more in Napier too.

If they do have it in Auckland, hopefully they do it at Mt Smart again rather than QBE. I hate that place.

As does everyone except Domey it seems.

I just thought I'd mess a round and looked up catching the train up to Auckland & spend a week up there in case both games were there. $318.00 return or $159 each way. Just for the train from the 15th to the 25th - ouch. Next I'll nosey at flights.

I wondered if there's a chance the Sydney game on the Feb 23 could go to Dunedin?

The Handa Prem draw has the WeeNix away to Southern United on the 24th but could bring that forward a day and play it as curtain raiser to the Nix?

Highlanders play the night before though and Dunedin has been tried before with "meh" results ... so maybe not ...

Always worth checking out transfercar, a car from Wellington, often with petrol, is usually available. Then train or fly back. Of course won’t be able to book a car til later in year or new year if looking for a deal with a free tank of petrol, some available now without the free petrol

Tickets? Tickets? We talkin’ about tickets?

Don't book thinking both games are in Auckland, they may not be. Nix have said these games will be confirmed in the next week

Very much a NZ issue with sport. Kiwis are shark losers and fair weather fans. There's a disconnect from what the YF and other Nix supporter groups do in Auckland becuase most people are oblivious or don't understand it. Add in the fact the Nix haven't had a decent season for awhile, a souless venue like QBE and it becomes a less attractive proposition.

Also during the uni O'week too. You'd get a few thousand students in there creating an atmosphere just like the 'Landers games. Would be a mean night under the roof

Dunedin has a great stadium, which i wish was here than the current Westpac one, but a prick to get to from the airport. They really need to sort their crap out down there with buses.

Anywhere in Dunedin is a prick to get to from the airport. Catch a shuttle into town, Forsyth Barr's location is very handy to Dunedin CBD and student district

Edit: but yes, the bus system is terrible!

Let's make the Dunedin game happen. The previous low turnout was before the students arrived. If the game is during Oweek it would be great!!!

The destinations for these games have been going to be announced in the "next week" for an awfully long time... when will we hear?

I don't care if its at Mt Smart, QBE or even Eden (I like Eden to be fair, easy to get to and from). If it's in Auckland, I'll be there
