Singapore and Indonesia IMO are better than China for long term Nixs profile. The A-League in Singapore is watched sports and many have an A-League team .. believe it or not  A-league gear  out sells EPL stuff.

Indonesia are hunger to get better there are over 230 million of them with about 10 million registered players. Like Singapore, Indonesia watch the A-league.

Time zones match, travel times are not quite so bad, many very wealthy locals. Also in Singapore and many parts of Indonesia English is the spoken language.

Just my opinion.

But what about skills and tactics?

I think the whole skills and tactics piece is over rated, Juve wouldn't be coming over here to train the Nix players would they? Like the Galaxy they'd be here to win an exhibition game.

I can understand why an Arsenal fan would think that skills and tactics are over rated.

How is who I support relevant? I didn't say that tactics and skills were overrated, I said that suggesting that Juve coming would somehow improve the Nix's skills and tactics was overrated!

Yeah sorry about that, it was a cheap shot!  But this thread had taken on a less serious nature.

I was just repeating the views of some that the Phoenix would would benefit in the skills, tactics and tricks department by playing Juve.

Maybe osmosis has something to do with it?

I accept that I lost the argument but do some of you think juv would have flown in, played the game and buggered off?

No, they would have trained and if the Nix players could have trained with them, they may have learned a few things - I forgot about half their stars been in the Euro 2008, but then the whole Italian way of coaching is impressive etc. I am sure there would have been some benefit. Especially on defence and how a back four need to work together. And be honest, our back four were a worry last season with the exception of Lochhead.

I accept the clubs decision no problems, but I am trying to look outside the circle and having an intelligent debate on the subject.

Oh and for those who think I'm wrong, please name the nationality of the new England coach?

I must be hanging out on that Chevio Verona website too much.

That would be Chievo.

I believe Chevies are some sort of 4-wheeled contraptions designed to move people around?

Indeed.  I was one of them.  But I don't recall seeing many Phoenix players there and I believe that is what you were suggesting.

True, such world class stars as Buffon, Zanetti, Nedved, Del Piero or Iaquinta would not attract the crowds.

I can't believe this argument is coming from someone who wouldn't buy Galaxy tickets

Very funny thread. Juventus aren't coming to Sudbury either.
