I watched the highlights last night - some good footy but absolutely no emotional attachment to it and can't say I really got into the game as such.

Apart from the final, I only watched the GCU vs Adelaide game as well. It was loltastic

I watched as much of it as I could after convincing some of a room full of cricketers/fans/wags that it would be more entertaining than the cricket. They then changed the channel again after CCM went 2 goals up. Supporting the Roar for the day, it's fair to say I was pretty pissed off about that.

Fuck this stupid game

I must be in that minority group as well then, I watch as a rule most of the A-league games, even if it is a replay or delayed coverage....

I watch every A-league game I can. I usually only miss parts of games when I am travelling hoe after a Phoenix home game.

Actually... Thats a lie. Every game except North Queensland. No time for their games. Boring, dark stadium and not in HD.

Just wondering if the people who say they don't give a sh*t about, and don't watch, any A League games apart from the Nix, watch EPL games, La Liga game, Champions League games, Europa Cup games etc, etc.

Just asking.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I have to prioritize now. So Aleague did take a back seat for EPL. But I did watch the final and managed to catch the end of the 2nd leg between roar and ccm

I watch as much football as I can manage while also keeping up with cricket and league, especially with the World Cup being on and the start of the NRL.

We now have 3 MySky decoders/tv's so the kids have one (cartoons etc), the wife has one (E, Oprah, sh*t like that) and I have one for Sport and Discovery Channel. This way I can watch all the football I want in the peace and quiet of the "other" lounge (quietly becoming the man lounge with a fridge arriving next week).

Its no longer a problem.

I tend to watch TV between 9 and 11pm at night when everyone else is asleep. Oldest watches a bit in the mornings and evenings for 1 hr max each time and the wife is on parental leave so watches her crap all day when she can. Its just easier that way. I do have a lot of recorded football that I don't get a chance to watch but also put good games on to DVD (All Whites in SA etc).

Its no longer a problem.

This - when Sky's not showing A-league games live, everyone's up in arms and screaming how Sky wants to ruin football, signing petitions for a football channel and other such stuff...and then they don't bother to watch the finals series once Phoenix's not involved.

You can't have it both ways people.

What Stefan said in the first part of his comment. I like watching as many games as I can. Gives me an idea of how the opposition are going. Yes Harry, I saw most of the final when I got home from the Cricket. Was a great game considering the rain.  Great crowd there for it too.

I watch other A-League games. I watched the GCU v Adelaide semi and the 2nd leg of Brisbane vs CCM. Just didn't care one bit about the final.

And this season i've only seen 2 EPL games that didn't feature Arsenal.

Three for me, and two for them.

Wasn't have a dig at anyone, Buff.

Was just curious whether people were more interested in watching English/European games, not involving a club they supported, than A League games

I know a few people like that who semi-follow the nix but are bigger fans of the EPL. They tend to either be

a. british (who are used to a more traditional club based relegation system without finals play offs)
b. a generation older than myself (im 25, and who are again use to the above)

I watch far more A-League than EPL or anything else though (although im a big La Liga fan also)

Exactly.  Thing is we've got to try and support the A-league as much as we can.  Means if more people are watching then when they re-negotiate the tv rights it will be more beneficial for the clubs.   Even if I can't watch the games live, I still book them in as if I was watching them.

Last week I watched my first UCL game.  It was magic.

If I could justify the $80/month sky fee I might watch EPL games involving two very fine teams.

Otherwise I rely on naff interweb streams which cut out so don't tend to watch the games (also they are on at times when I prefer to be asleep)

Quite frankly, apart from FA Cup and World cup games I can't be @rsed watching games with teams that I have no interest in.

My immediate thought to a lot of comments here is "how much do these people actually like football?"
Obviously you all do like it, but personally I watch as much football as I can from anywhere in the world; I read a ton of football literature as well, in-depth stuff like Jonathan Wilson and Zonal Marking. I am in love with the game and have a huge thirst for it, right down to wanting to know what each team's centre-back does when the side is attacking and why.

I feel much more connection to the A-League than I do European Leagues.

I have watched as many A League games as possible this last season. Most of them on the net, I usually look up a few sites to see which has the sharpest picture and less breaks. Nostro was very good for a while.

Particularly like when a Kiwi is involved, so if Smeltz goes to Perth then that will be another team with more interest then usual, or he goes to the Jets, it will add to watching just Brockie playing

Love it, and cant wait for the next season

I have Sky ONLY for sport. Football/League/Cricket is where its at for me.

I used to watch Serie A when ESPN had it but now watch A-League/CL/ EPL. Also La Liga when theres nothing else.

I watch A League, Some EPL any live games from anywhere and this is the only reason I have Sky Sports. I was thinking about dumping it aand watch the A League via the net but with QPR leading the Championship, I might be watching them every week next EPL season....And of course the A League.

Soggy golf balls?

Sounds a bit like wattery filth to me!

(however that might be a goer with Doloras or maybe even SK... go on ask them!)

3. If your ball comes among watter, or any wattery filth, you are at liberty to take out your ball and bringing it behind the hazard and you may play it with any club and allow your adversary a stroke for so getting out your ball.

Ooh! Suits you sir!

Important to do this. I recorded every A league game through the season and probably watched 95% and Nix ones at least twice.Love that " x30" speed control though
Follow all Lvr'pool games, EPL and Euro and like to see West Ham, Blackburn and the Championship Highlights programme cos of the Kiwis involved.

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

I've always been pretty one eyed about Spurs and MoTD highlights was my only concession to any other EPL games. My disposal income/time has never been enough to allow me to make the most of ubiquitous Sky coverage of the EPL.

I know...I'm just not a football fan.

I think it is partly an age thing. As a young un (70s & early 80s) I would watch all of the Big League Soccer on Sundays (this was the only football programme in NZ). When I was 7/8 I even liked Sunderland!

Mid 80s onwards I became very parochial.

Might have been different if we'd stayed in the UK where following your own team might have been easier.

Everyone loved Sunderland after 1973. I remember watching this FA Cup final as it was the first live final to be shown in NZ. Leeds hammered Sunderland all game but Ian Porterfield scored for Sunderland and it was a huge upset.
