Hopefully a few posts to come that will be eligible for Frankie's game of hypocrisy.

Cue: gloating and merriment from the people who think he's the Invisible Man and the chief weak link in our team. Maybe he lost those pictures of Ricki with a donkey we were talking about?

Tim's quitting because he's got a chance of doing a MBA or similar at London or Cambridge Unis. Good on him.Doloras2012-03-26 15:51:23

I suspect his body has never recovered from the MCG incident and now he's got some options in life he'd rather just flag it.

That would explain the perceived relative drop in form this season.

well YF will have to brainstorm a special farewell for him. He's been a brilliant servant of the club for its enitre (short) history.

"THANKS TIM" on the banner?

Anything farewell we do could be preemptive if we somehow get a second home final.

Didn't the announcement say it was because he had the chance to study a Masters in Management at either Cambridge or LSE and he wanted to ensure employment post-football? Although I suspect that he might be going to be a part of this project BarryZuckerkorn2012-03-26 16:11:37

He's sure been a passionate home grown clubman and always gave his best.  Obviously an intelligent player and as part of the experienced leadership group he will be a loss, but the club will hope to build from the base he has helped to set.

Congrats Tim on a record for the club which will be amongst it's highlights over the years, and thanks for the memories.  Not every-one is a Pele, certainly not at A-League level, but every club needs it's honest toilers who give their all for the team, and he's certainly been that.

What a great opportunity to move onwards to, best wishes for the future.

hope to see a mass of magic bandages in the FZ to see him off in style...

Wow! Huge thanks and Congrats to Tim for what he's done for the Nix (insert snarky comments here) Didn't see it coming. It does mean Ricki will have to change up the midfield next year which is encouraging.

Such an inspiration for me, studied in same field as me, at same campus, played same position as well.

Good luck buddy, despite my occasional criticism, you are a legend.

Maybe he could be carried onto the park on one of these...

Either that, or compulsory head-bandages in the FZ

He has put in a great innings for the club and isn't going to be forgotten anytime soon. But it makes sense for him to move on, the A-League has improved a lot over the last 5 years.

You'll never beat The Salmon!

Last time we did this the phoenix played their worst football of the season and Tim didn't acknowledge the crowd a single time.

Oh please.  We've easily been more inept than that.

While we're at it, I'd also like to acknowledge Tim's work for Life Flight Trust. A good bloke, on and off the field.

Big game on Friday coming up!

And Fred and the boys from sky thought it was a tribute to Manny Muscat

Great team man, and will be missed from the team a bit more than some of us would guess possibly. All the best Tim for your new start!

He'll be missed - a real team man and really epitomized what being a Phoenix player was about. Scored some important goals for us over the years.

Not too bad for a Wellington College old boy.

Wow didn't see this coming. In spite of bashing him couple of times He has worked hard for the team, obviously a team man. Scored some spectacular and crucial goals for the club. Leaves a big gap in the squad, need a new CAM, new Vice-captain.
Best of luck to him in the future.

Yeah, although a lot of people may not rate him as an individual player he obviously has had a very positive influence on the team off the pitch as well. Suspect he will be missed much more then some people think.

He is a good team man and has scored a bunch of timely and important goals. Would prefer a quicker more mobile midfield for next season. Wouldn't be against seeing how Smith and Muscat paired in the role though.
