Well, that's the whole thing about Ricki's management style that many don't get, he manages "holistically" for a well-gelling team rather than pushing forward the most talented individuals who might not be team players.

Every time Doloras is condescending, a puppy dies.

I think Doloras is right, condescending or not. The team that has played for each other has a shot at the finals, with Tim Brown playing a big part in that team culture that Ricki appears to nurture,,, and that's despite the obvious early season troubles and few exceptional individual players.
Contrast that with the much-vaunted, well-monied, talent-stacked and some might say 'aura-some' Melbourne team that have early holidays.

Aisle 6 is one that is normally closed off I think. So will need to sell a lot of tickets before that gets opened up.

Of course, Mick Jagger is a graduate of the London School of Economics. He couldn't get no satisfaction, even though he had sympathy with the Devil. He did start to put brown sugar in his coffee there though.
Good luck Tim

Thanks Tim. Great memories on the pitch. I have always admired your work ethic but for me his professionalism and contribution to the team cultrue and the building of the Phoenix brand is probably second to none.

He gives his time frrely and is genuine in his interest and interaction with the fans.

One moment sticks out for me was after a preaseason hit out at Hutt Park at the beginning of last season against the NZ U20? side. It was a farking miserable day and my 7 year old boy was desperate to get a photo with Tim as were many others. Anyway Tim stayed around for ages to satisfy everones ones wants when it would have been far easier and more pleasant for him to head off to the showers. He was last into the sheds by a long way but he and the Nix secured a fan for life in my son, who was very saddened at the news.

I remember thanking Tim for his patience and his reply was "hey, I am living the dream. It is the least I can do to stay for a photo to make a kids day"

Anyway, good luck to the man, hopefully we will seem him back at the Nix or NZ football in some capacity in the future.

MBA -> Future Phoenix CEO

If his part in the publicity campaign leading up to the Bahrain game was as big as was made out, then yes please.

Following in the footsteps of another  Wellington footballer, Phil Alexander (like Brown formerly of Miramar Rangers) currently CEO of Crystal Palace (since 1998) in the English Championship:

... rounding off his career with Bracknell Town, where he took over as manager in 1992

...As well as the Robins' exploits on the field, Alexander's tenure was notable for a lucrative sponsorship deal he negotiated for the club with Panasonic, and this led to him returning to The Football League, with Swindon Town appointing him as Marketing Controller in 1994. He remained in this role for two years before moving to a similar role at Crystal Palace. After Mark Goldberg's takeover of the club in 1998, Alexander was appointed the club's Chief Executive, a role he held through the administration period that followed. Under Simon Jordan's tenure as Chairman, Alexander was in charge of the commercial side of the club, as well as negotiating all player sales and acquisitions for the Eagles, while under new co-chairmen Martin Long and Steve Parish he is set to take over the central running of the club.

Alexander and fellow ex-Miramar player Stu Jacobs of course have forged a relationship between Palace and Jacobs' "Kaizen" Acadamy in Wellington:

Palace chief executive Phil Alexander, who played for Miramar Rangers in the 1980s, said his club would offer regular trials and scholarships for selected players.

We will be offering talented young Kiwis the opportunity to play professional football at the highest level, Alexander said.

All the best Tim....you have been a true pro for the Nix and for NZ football in general.

I have been a critic sometimes but there was never doubting that you had your heart and soul in the right place and gave 100%. I still reckon you played your best football as a defensive mid, especially in some of those tight AW games.

I kind of wondered if something was up. The last few games Tim has missed quite a few chances that he would normally bury. Maybe his mind was somewhere else.

Thanks for the goals..some of the best ever scored by a Nix player. Still remember the 40 metre lob.....absolutely brilliant.

Hope it all goes well in the UK, all the best for your studies and look forward to seeing you back as CEO of the Nix or NZF is a few years time.

FIFY

Being a person of advancing years I had no idea what FIFY means so Googled and the ever reliable Urban Dictionary came up with the following"

1.FIFY98 up, 14 down

Fify stands for ' Fit in (a) few years'

When used in a sentence : "That girl is a Fify".

Applies to all girls under the age of 16. when you see a hot girl that is possibly younger then the age of 16 then the word "Fify" is a short term saying for telling someone that a girl is going to be hot when she turns 16. "Fify" is a simple descriptive word of a young girl that a man may find sexually attractive but simply can't state she is fit because she is too young. The word is socially acceptable because when using the word "Fify", a man is basically acknowledging that the female is too young to be called fit and so instead of coming across as a pedophile, a man can use this word with safety because it clearly sates that the female will be hot when she turns the legal age of 16.
"That girl is defiantly a "Fify"

"yea that girl over there is a "Fify"

or used on its own "Fify"

I thought you were older than that Deloras

Of course could just be the alternate meaning "Free Info For You"

As a person, quality.

As a player, not my cup of tea, purely because he did have the tendency to seagull around the box a bit.

Though maybe it was all part of a plan to make Manny look so good in the DM role.

Anyways, good luck for future endeavours.

I think you can not particularly like him as a player, but still respect the effort and loyalty he has shown, wish him all the best and not be a hypocrite, no? If not, hypocrite here.

True.

LSE is very close to N17 and White Hart Lane (although you have to pass through Woolwich-land) while Cambridge was influential in the modern football game rules (from Wikipedia).

Think very carefully about this Timmy and choose wisely. This is your future at stake.

(Hint: LSE and Spurs)
