Why was my new thread integrated into the speculation thread and this one not? Do I need a higher profile or something?

this should mean the end for Daniel for me, unless we are seeking squad fillers come closer to the season

This is not a bad signing, will push Ifill, bertos for places, and is proven, just hope he isnt clogging up too much money so we can get some new imports still

Nah, terry is all good. The nix staff are all busy behind the scenes!

A fantastic signing - will add some creativity to the Phoenix and also will fit right in with the rest of the squad.

Has a great attitude and will have a few points to prove.

Ricki mentioned there was a signing coming up very soon last Wed at the junior Wharfie evening.

Good signing and I guess even a coup to prise him away from Adelaide. Hopefully sends a message to any prospective signings that Wellington is a good place to come to.

think he has a good head on him and will fit nicely in with our large amounts of wide players that we usually aquire- again, do people think this spells the end of Daniel? Or will we continue with him?

We should and probably will keep him. We need depth and Daniel offers that in more than one position. A more than handy squad player I think.

as per speculation thread :

Pantelis is a class signing... has shown class in the past... hopefully ricki can re-ignite his fire

In regards to the daniel thing... IMO he's still a great player, will hapilly have him run around in the last 20-30 mins for this season...

Daniel is a piece of Nix history, if he can still willingly bench and keep the dream alive then why not?

Lucas Pantelis is a great signing.  He had a few injuries last season, from memory.  Far happier with him than Downey.

Very decent signing.  But am I the only one hearing Mike Cockerill screaming "Lucas Pantelis!" in their heads, right now.

No transfer fee between A-league clubs anyway.

I think, to make sure he does the business this season he should be attacked by a crazy lady on his first day in Wgtn.

Does that extend to no transfer fees from an A-League club to any club domestic or foreign?

I know other clubs can pay us transfer fees but I meant can we pay non-A-League clubs a transfer fee?  But if Melbourne payed $500 000 for Hernandez I guess they can.

And that was $1.5m for McKain wasn't it?  Great piece of business.

I was thinking that "Pantelis" sounds like a sanitary product for the ladies!

awesome news onm the signing front, this will push daniel to the bench if he's lucky, will mean that with Leo back to full fitness we may see ifill play a more central role, with pantelis on the left and Leo on the right - with the apparent pace of downey on the right we could have a number of good attacking options out wide - hopefully we'll see some decent crosses for our tall striker to head home..

if  we go by last season leo was pants...hopefully the longer break will have re-energised him with enough interest to do what he used to do best

This is a great signing. Watch the Yellow Fever light his fire! He will bring a new dimension to the squad IMO. Will he join in with "Adelaide are Rubbish" do you reckon?

Well I feel we have a half-decent side now which is a good start... and plenty of time left for more players too. I feel so much more confident about the season ahead given that despite terry's problems we have still managed to sign two proven a-league quality players...

I'd like to see Lia more as a backup for Muscat. You just know that position is going to card out during the season. Re-sign Ward if we can to take Lia's spot above.

And if it's Bertos back, please return to old form, if not, we Ifill wide, and we need another striker.

Very happy with Pantelis being signed though.

Yea agree with that goldienz

Aside from the eleven I put in there, who else is actually already signed for the coming season?

Daniel... and who else? Greenacre? Musa?

This was from the stuff article:

"Phoenix players already signed for the 2011-12 season: Goalkeeper: Mark Paston Defenders: Andrew Durante, Ben Sigmund, Tony Lochhead, Jimmy Downey Midfielders: Manny Muscat, Tim Brown, Vince Lia, Leo Bertos, Daniel Strikers: Paul Ifill, Chris Greenacre, Mirjan Pavlovic"

* Think this was prior to Pantelis signing toogoldienz2011-05-16 09:45:32
