Wasn't Chettleburgh spotted in Taupo yesterday in Manawatu green?

Was at the game and Mehmet played the full 90 mins.
Must say he did play well.

Are they now saying that downey is a midfielder? Does that mean muscat is then stuck playing Rb.

I think Downey can play both, but is more of a right back. He would have gone onto the wing, so we didn't change our back four whilst defending a lead yesterday.

i personally thought downey was going to right back and manny into the middle, so was suprised when i saw him up further forward.

He could be a good counter attack option against tired legs though. Have him hugging the offfside line and then when we decide we have to hoof the ball away, we hoof it in his direction? That would require too much tactics and thinking though

That is pretty much what we were doing in the last 10 mins..problem being that when Downey gets it he doesn't know what to do with it.

Downey was always played on the wing when he was at Perth. Can't remember where they put him at NQF, didn't watch their games lol.

Lindsay can play at RB correct?

Could be a solution for Muscat to move central? Also solve an AWs problem?
If hes up to it that is?

Yes. Lindsay played RB for the Blackburn academy I believe.

So that would allow Muscat to go back to a defensive midfield role.

I'd like to see him given a go this week against Newcastle although it wouldn't surprise me if he's not up to A-League level yet. Remember Rowe was playing in the English Reserves League for Birmingham at the start of the year and Ricki didn't think he was up to standard. Lindsay wasn't consistently making the Blackburn Reserve team.

Like I've said, he was in their development team, not in the reserve team.

Yeah I know that. I'm saying unlike Rowe, Lindsay wasn't consistently making the Reserve team, if at all....

Ricki also didn't think Kosta was up to A League level.
I'm not convinced he's the best judge of young talent.

I find the interviewer more difficult to understand than the 'keeper, but then I grew up being a big fan of Alexei Sayle, Craig Charles and the Beatles.

I've always thought that.  But I also believe that he's a poor judge of talent generally.  Look at who we have signed since '07, some right donkeys in there.

Other coaches don't exactly have great track records either.

Pretty much every coach in the world signs more players that turn out to be donkeys than players that turn out to be stars.

Sounds like Ricki might play Lindsay this weekend. Don't think he has much choice. It'll be good to see how he goes.

Can any of our new recruits play right back with any consistency? I thought like three of them were capable of playing right back...

I swear that shot of his went in when watching live, it was just wishful thinking him scoring on debut lol
Seriously though I can't remember the defender he burnt off on that play but he looked like he has a decent amount of pace for a big, not Carl Lewis but better than D Mac..........

yeah really like the look of him, think if he takes his chances, then seems like the kind of guy we should sign. Hungry, mobile and eye for goal. Also at 26, has his better years ahead of him

He has been re-incarnated. This is the 2011 upgraded version called Cameron Lindsay.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

I feel sorry for the kid, finally on a full time pro contract and they cant even get his profile on the website right, had to post it though. The whole site is full of errors but that was a major one IMO
