Crowther looks good at practice yesterday. Our guys are up for it. Yesterday I have never seen the players so intense before at practices. They were really going for it no holds barred. couple of bumps but no injuries. Gould looked good too. had a good laugh, pulled out some top draw saves. Was good to see Ricki out there as well. Might have to come out of retirement if things go completely pear shaped.

I'm not the best anatomy, but I'm pretty damn sure your femur is the bone from knee to hip, with the tibia and fibula betwene the knee and ankle.

So how does a 'corked thigh' turn out to be a fractured tibia?

That's like saying a torn tricep turned out to be a broken wrist.

Radio Sport is reporting this...

The Wellington Phoenix are in negotiations with the Brisbane Roar to sign goal-keeper Liam Reddy.

Reddy has reportedly said good-bye to his Brisbane team-mates in anticipation of being in the capital as early as next week.

But Phoenix CEO Tony Pignata says it's far from a done deal.

Pignata says he's talked to the Roar about Reddy's availability and are still in negotiations.

Pignata says it seems certain Mark Paston will be out for the rest of the season, hence the need for Reddy's services.

I'd be happy for Reddy to come for the rest of the season.

Hopefully we do get Reddy, very good keeper when he isn't having a meltdown.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe is a conspiracy and he's leaving at during the transfer window to play in the Bahraini Premier League for an obsene amount of money.

Its no longer a problem.

I'd like to take this opportunity and wish Mark a speedy and full recovery from his injury.

Liam Reddy. Just the name makes me chuckle but I'm not chuckling now.

How did things get so bad so suddenly?

Radio Sport said we will get Liam Reddy as soon as Brisbane has found a replacement for him.

Selfish pricks.  They have two keepers in their youth squad plus Griffin "can't catch" McMaster.

We, on the other hand have Crowther and a chap in his early to mid 40s.

Brilliant.  Seems harsh on Crowther but too bad.

article on Crowther by Fred assuming Crowther will get plenty of game time now seems odd given the articles almost confirming Reddy. Can't tell me Reece will be ahead of him?

Na he won't be, but I reckon he's talked to Crowther in his interview and is kinda portraying what they really talked about in the interview. Rather than writing something different to what Reece would have thought the story would be about.
Fred would get a bad rep if he interviewed someone and then threw it back in their face in the story.

Crowther may start this next game anyway

Just got a PhoneNix text, Reddy confirmed.

Good to see Reddy come in as cover, I would hope Crowther starts the next game, probably Reddy in after that.

That's what I was thinking. He will probably meet the squad in Adelaide tomorrow. So that's one day between that and his first game. I'd prefer to give him a week of training so he can work well with the new defenders in front of him.

Yip agree. He can be bench this week then see how he goes at  training. Good decision.

When i got the text I thought we might have snatched another player because it said 1/2 but the second text was like two letters lol

I'm happy with that.  Will Reddy be sitting on the bench for the Brisbane game tonight as was suggested by some recent article before joining us in Adelaide?

Good signing. I can't wait to see him make his debut for the Nix.

Have watched Reddy for years. Does not do a lot for me.
The fact he got dropped from the Roar and has since said he wanted to go to Sydney, says it all.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Hi guys
Yeah, the article with Reece was more a feature on him rather than a story saying he's the new No 1. Reece was quoted as saying he's hoping to get a lot more game time now, naturally, but I wasn't saying he would. Whether it's right or not, think they might go for Reddy as No 1.
