Looks like Paston is out for the rest of the season......we're screwed with him out with Manny & Siggy suspended also.

Why was the other one not locked? But yeah we need to sign a good replacement unless RH really thinks Crowther can be up to it. I wouldn't mind Gould starting or maybe sign Bosnich??

Also he hasn't played his last game for the season if the injury is only 4-6 weeks...

I'd be pretty keen on Bozza in goal, I really do think we need a replacement.

Ricky would ruin crowther's confidence if he didnt at least give him a few games to show what he can do now Paton's out for the long-haul. I'm all for bringing in an older custodian as an injury replacement because Gould does look past it. Bannatyne has been training with the AWs, so Ricki must see something in him? If the whole transfer thing is too difficult, a senior NSWPL keeper maybe?

If I am right if he is out for six weeks he will miss:

Wellington v Sydney - 12th December
Adelaide v Wellington - 18th December
Central Coast v Wellington -31st December
Wellington v Brisbane - 9th January
Wellington v North Queensland 15th January
Perth v Wellington 22nd January

That isn't too bad.

No we will get something like .5 points less per game than our average. It will be interesting if we play him if we do actually perform poorly... However I doubt it.

Except Lochhead. He will have to organise the defence aswell though I am sure he can do it to the same level as Paston/Cech can.

This is a massive blow, as im not so keen on Crowther, but guess he'll have to start this week, really think we need to sign a top keeper though, why not try get Moss back onloan, Melbourne aren't playing him and we won't be playing them. If not maybe Ballentyne. Or Reddy If the Roar don't want himFC_Shaza2009-12-10 14:02:22

Was going to suggest Reddy, might be a possibility.

I know. I was gonna compare Lochhead to Evra but didn't want to offend any Lochhead fans.

ahh crap, that is not good news, I like crowther's enthusiasm but I have no faith in his consistancy - maybe we'll see Gould actually get a start after all.

How can a keeper be so injury prone? He seems to pick up injuries more so than other keepers

Also, this will be Crowther's 3rd game against Sydney, not good. They have only seen Paston for 5 minutes so may fancy their chances at banging them past Crowther.

FML.Seriously though a replacement is needed, Crowther makes me so nervous.

Worried about our chances now, I have little confidence in Crowther  (Go on, prove me wrong)

Nix need to do something about this to make the play offs.

If Crowther dives, making an effort to get to shots I'll be happy.  And don't slip over.  That's a big one for me.

Watched Bannatyne train with All Whites and very much doubt he's up to it, the football gods were kind to us Paston wasn't injured for the Bahrain.

Crowther will benefit from not having Sigmund in front of him bollocking him for his cock ups. He has to be given the chance or else he should not even be in the squad, it would be prudent to have some decent back up ready to go.

Oh dear, this could be a deal breaker. Hope Ricki is looking for a replacement.

Got made to look silly both times against Sydney.

Goals through his legs, slipping over, parrying the ball straight to players - not good. Inspires no confidence whatsoever. Can use the 'too young' excuse but then you just have to look at Langerak who is probably already one of the most competent keepers in the league at 21.

Moss > Langerak.  If Moss makes a mistake he doesn't fall to the ground pretending he was fouled, he also hasn't deliberately kicked an oppstion forward.

Reece reminds me of what Gomez was like when he started at Spurs last season, hope he gets his act together, he could actually be bloody good value, just needs some confidence  giddyup2009-12-10 16:17:48

Moss > Langerak. If Moss makes a mistake he doesn't fall to the ground pretending he was fouled, he also hasn't deliberately kicked an oppstion forward.
Langerak is definatly on par with Moss and by the end of the season will be ahead of him. Don't kid yourself by Moss's circus-like appeal.
