Things I like:

- Former Nix defender Kristian Rees got subbed off after only 22 minutes
- Former Nix keeper Scott Higgins let in five goals
- Former Nix superstar Shane Smeltz got NOTHING

Ifill is brilliant...I hope he decides to settle here one day. he has vision, talent, he runs rings round his opposition (commentators are always saying it too)

Way to go ifill aka SHAGGY, MR BOOM-BASTIC..MR FANTASTIC..

"at the expense of a corner"

it'll be expensive if I smash my TV in rage at hearing this said again. But to claim Football is more poorly served the the general buffoonery that is NZ Sports Presentation is a long bow to draw.

Gold Coast coach Miron Bleiberg was gracious in defeat.

"I think Wellington were much better and deserved their moment of glory or moment in the sun."

"They played very well and wanted it more. The fact that after yesterday they dropped to the bottom of the ladder gave them a bit of added desperation."

Just reading through the match mag. Page 28 - Paul Ifill - "Go Forward"

Quote : We are getting a lot of balls in the box, sooner or later we are going to give someone a hiding. Unquote.

Well Paul, the team were as good as your word and what better timing for you to say that in an article!

Now can you predict next Wednesdays "Big Wednesday" Numbers for me please.

Bleiberg is a f**k off. Period.

Phoenix did awesome today, glad I was there. Pretty great, my mate who I frequent with at the games went down to Christchurch for the weekend, he is regretting that now. hahaha.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Can someone burn me a copy please? To save space, you might want to cut out the extensive pre-match and after-match programmes generously shown by Sky though. Lonegunmen2009-10-26 12:49:41

That performance alone deserves a 10 year liscence.
Watching Daniel grabbing at his shirt with so much passion after scoring gave me goose bumps everyone played with so much passion, this win will hopefully give us the confidence to finnish of teams, watch out Sydney your next.

Still buzzing.  Recorded TV1 news.  Watched the sports news presented by Toni Street.  They showed the 1st 5 goals.  As they cut away from the  item Toni said "...make that 6-0."  I celebrated the goals again as I watched.

What a game.  For those of you at the game you probably missed it, but at one point the camera focussed on Ricki who was swearing like a sailor at Bleiberg (who we saw two minutes later grinning like a half-wit).  Good man Ricki, stick it to him.  I hope after the game you shook his hand and said, "bad luck, yah dickhead"!

Oh my god that was rediculously amazing. Great fun reading through some of the posts during the match. Quotes such as: "another missed opportunity..when r they going to go in".

This is the reason I've stuck with the team, backed what they've been doing and not wanted big changes. This was always on the cards. Ok, we won't do this every week. Gold Coast were pitiful in defence, but this is what we are capable of. We need this confidence to go forward with. I think one of the main reasons we ain't in the top 4 has been a lack of confidence. We saw tonight that when they got 2-0 up, they looked a lot more relaxed and playing how they should all the time. Foewrif. I don't care. I'm so happy. 6-0.

I know Durante and co were immense, but weren't Smeltzy and Porter just poos.
They could have been ours once

Highlight, Smeltzy going to kick with the right, tapped the ball with the left, air balled it and over he goes. Summed up his night. At least we got the wave from him
