This day willl live on forever in my memory:
I remember Daniel "slide n score" and then his trip over as he went to celebrate
I remeber seeing Brownie steaming down the middle then skip past higgins and take a final touches just to be suree it went in
I remember Iffil make mince meat of the defence and to see Daniel with and open net
I remember seeing Greenache with an open net and remember how happy he was when it went hurtling into the net. You could see the relief in his celebration as he looked to the heavens pumping his fists
Iffil turning and pumping it in through Higgins legs(those head bands must be lucky)
And Hearfield drinving home the sixth
And i finally rmember Chen as he hit a header wide he threw a little spasm, can we please just sign this kid up for comedic value.
This day will live on forever in my memory
I F**KING LOVE YOU PHOENIX

I was still up at 1ish this AM and Sports 365 had the goal highlights.

Those goals looked even better. I've only just woken up in the last 30 or so mins and reading all the stuff on here proves I wasn't having a dream yesterday, I really was there! 6-0 6-0 6-0 6-0 6-0 6-0 !!

Perhaps one of the Mods would like to make this happen and rename the thread.

That was quite a night, I was on a big natural high, albeit well augmented with beer.  I have a pass for the season, but took someone else to this game and so ended up with a ticket for the game.  It's now on the wall

Bloody well done to the nix, and to the zone - you guys sounded amazing yesterday!  And cheers smeltzie for the wave!

Heh, listening to the radio coverage of the game from Radio NZ now - gets the shivers going down.  I need a DVD of that game though.

Will never forget that game. Especially the players coming over for those celebrations - helluva day at the office for them!

Hahahaha who renamed this thread Fluke Win?

bopman wrote:

While I thought Chen tried hard and ran for everything when he came on did anyone see his dummy spit when we scored the 6th? Wouldn't come and celebrate with the boys and it took Siggy to give him a bit of a rark up to get him to come over, though still reluctantly. Im glad he is passionate but needs to be more of a team man from the look of things.

Or perhaps he was disappointed in himself in the passing movement that set up the goal.

What will linger most in my mind is the fact that, living in UAE, the working week starts on a Sunday, so that rather watching this historic victory on line, I was supervising a bunch of spoilt brats in some poxy test... so if anyone has a copy of DVD, please PM me!

Somone one described us a "uber tolerant misty eyed".. you know, I don't really think we care!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

nah I'm all right ay! but still, only when I drink do I hear pearls of wisdom such as "6-0 is not a good name but a good win" (Said in a thick Somalian accent).
Must find that cab driver and make him my guru.

Just watched the highlights of the game...truly fantastic goals, all 6 of them.

Now it's time for Chen to break the drought! Do they call him Johnny? I kept on calling him Chubby last night..lol hope he didn't mind!

This was the nail in the coffin for Ricky in my opinion. We should have scored at least 8. I'll be disappointed if he's not sacked this week.

First time ever that the Phoenix have scored more goals than I've drunk beers during a match.

You're on fire with the remarks today.  21 hours later and I'm still buzzing. Is this a good thing or do I need a life??

yes- we are so uber tolerant: more demanding fans would have wanted 7 or 8 goals.

Misty-eyed because we are laughing so much at the famous GCU.

What a win that was. I flew down for the weekend from Auckland and the atmosphere was as good as ever despite the drop in crowd numbers. Hopefully this will bring a few people back!

This weekend always seems to have a crowd about that size.  No real 'drop'.

Damn right - here's a season member who didn't make it because of the holiday weekend.  Got back down from Mt Rolleston in Arthurs Pass, couldn't get anywhere with Sky but jumped around my mates bach when the score came on the news at 5-0 and then updated at the end of the news as 6-0 with 5mins to go. Must be a rare live news football club update for TV1.

Awesome result and of course the crowds will be back up again - though the Wednesday night game may be a bit tricky.

Can't wait for the highlights later today and the replay early tommorow morning!
