Are you using epistemological relativism on the internet?  I guess the answer has to be, "You can believe whatever you like, as there is no objective truth to the matter."

(By reputation, I should be denouncing Serepisos and claiming he has some sinister plot that involves seeming to bankrupt in order to wring money out of the good-hearted but naive footy fans of NZ... but really, it's too good a year.  Incredible breakthroughs in science, dictators being thrown out of power, the Messi-Ronaldo duel establishing the Argentine as the best player ever, Newcastle staying up - I just can't stay in a bad mood! )

Now Stripes, I don't think it was that bad...he just said that those of us who trust in Terry weren't being realistic...he never pissed me off or said anything bad about my relatives!!

Once again we say.  Name these 'highly motivated' people because so far not one of them has been proven to be anything other than a very large straw for people to clutch at.  A WGA sized straw.

I said there is a large group of highly motivated people who were interested in keeping the Nix going.
Try NZF, FFA, Wellington city council, Yellowfever, NZ football community, Sky TV, my Mum.

I did not say there were highly motivated BUYERS ready to step in. I have no proof of this.

But there is signifiacantly more proof about the state of poor old Terrys business. When the CEO comes out and states " Terry currently, and for the past few months can't affored to run the Nix" then that is a fact.

The best outcome would be for Terry to refinance and keep running the Nix. However there is a strong business case to suggest that this will not happen. I still maintain that unless Terry secures a significant cash injection then we are looking at alternative ownership models.....

If this is clutching at straws then I am happy to do this.....because the alternative does not bear thinking about!

No there is not a strong business case, once again, there's an unqualified person on a football forum piecing together a half-baked hypothesis from stuff he (I assume?) saw in the papers.

Terry cannot afford to keep running the Nix in the sense that he can't afford to keep throwing $1 million and more down the plughole. That's a fact and it's always been a fact. But the issue is with the A-league business model, not because Terry's going bust.

Doloras, I have to ask. Are you this lady who's been in the papers recently regarding her activities online?

Many women have been in the paper regarding their activities online. Could you narrow it down? I haven't been seducing teenage boys on Facebook if that's what you mean.

Sigh!
I guess we will have to disagree.....and wait and see how it unfolds.

Seems the former owner of Racing Santander has never received payment of Ali Syed for the shares he "brought" and is also suing Ali Syed.

Fascinating that our owner is going to court this afternoon for bankruptcy and there is hardly a whisper on here

https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/money/5040294/Terry-Serepisos-bankruptcy-case-to-proceed

Instead of a hearing in the High Court this afternoon to try to knock out the bankruptcy notices, Mr Serepisos' lawyer, Justin Toebes, withdrew from the case without a replacement being hired.

Mr Toebes said Mr Serepisos had been told the consequences of not getting a new lawyer for the hearing.

Yeah, this certainly means that Terry and therefore the Nix are doomed. There's no way the DomPost are breathlessly hyping something which will end as a damp squib.

End of the World has elapsed and yet the pain for Terry's empire lingers. Now, his lawyer has withdrawn from the latest bankruptcy case and his bankrupty hearing will continue. What does that mean? Judgement Day for Terry must be close, shavingly close for comfort.WGA was a scam becos Ali Syes was a scam-b. Doloras, empty your piggbank to save Terry NOW!

Sure Terry might once again manage to pull a rabbit out of the hat and keep on trading but it's not like it's not news when one of Wellington's major businessmen has spent the last six months more and more deperately juggling to keep all his many companies head's above water. Most of you dislike the Dom simply because they dare to tarnish Terry's halo. Personally i think it's news when any major finanical figure's lawyer jumps ship at the last minute and no one shows up to court even tho its obvious there will be consequences

One dares to wonder if the lawyer removing himself was due to non-payment....

I love it that I seem to have become the poster child for doom-mongers to yell at everytime they believe that this time The End Is Nigh and the Financial Rapture is going to take Terry away.

Yawn.....was hoping this would all be done and dusted by now.
Not good when its the same judge all the time for Terry's cases, must be getting abit tired of the excuse's and the carry-on.

I wasn't even aware he was due in court today. It could have originally just been stalling for time. Now that time has passed he will just secure the loan with an additional property which could be why he didn't bother completing the motions today. It could be bad or it could be irrelevant, I haven't actually heard of any mispayments over this so it sounds like this lender just wants additional security given terrys other string of financial court cases.

Exactly. So why are people acting like we're doomed. Better to save that negativity until we actually know something.

Allegedly

I haven't seen anyone on here today playing Chicken Little with the sky is falling the sky is falling. Nor yelling at you & I was merely pointing out that
Fact A) a major financial figure taking one step closer to bankruptcy is news (esp for his employees and creditors)
Fact B) The Dom Post is in the news business
Opinion C) Taking umbrage at someone (the Dom Post) for doing their job (the news) is a little defensive

I thought the world was going to end on Saturday looks like they got it 48 hours out.

I just hope and hope this is not the end for the Nix it will be a sad sad day for me after following local and national soccer for 40 odd years the Nix was a breath of fresh air and I've been breathing it.

But looking on the bright side every cloud has a silver lining and come October I'll be back at the ROF watching our team, we cant let the dream die this quick.

Please please somebody come up with the cash Wellington will not be the same ever again if the Nix is allowed to die.

Actually no, the CEO said that he can't afford to run the club day to day.

TV channels are in the same 'eyeball' business (no pun intended).

Advertisers rule.

Obviously none of them are Nix supporters.
