And coincidentally, I suspect that Welnix would be prepared to pole dance their way through all the strip clubs in Wellington for $430k worth of sponsorship for one season.

Well, here is facts on this - Auckland City received $432,437 from Trillian Trust between October 2017 to April 2018 (so, basically, for the 2017/2018 season). And that's not counting the grants to Central United, a few of which were also made in that period, and which take the overall amount easily over $500,000 (though I haven't bothered to tally it up). Add to that US $250,000 (which Mr Google tells me is $362,922.50 NZ) that they got from the Club World Cup, and somehow I think that Auckland City aren't exactly pressed for money to run a team in a league with significantly lower costs than the A-league.
And coincidentally, I suspect that Welnix would be prepared to pole dance their way through all the strip clubs in Wellington for $430k worth of sponsorship for one season.

It was only slightly a come to Allah meeting. There is no secret that Dave meets regularly with the club, from time to time other attend. This week instead of Domey (who is in Hong Kong) it's Rob. It's not rocket science boys.
Auckland City run off Trillian Trust and Club World Cup money. Neither of which is an option for Welnix.
I reckon we might be viewing ACFC insight into Auckland investment through too narrow a prism, ie existing ACFC funding model. I seem to recall ACFC were exploring possible A league expression of interest about 12 months ago. A different funding model would have been partying of that thinking. Time for Rob to revisit that thought with Ivan? Just wondering what NZ avenues have been explored.

If they don't perform on stage or do what the clubs like, they will get fined though and lose some of that money

Full commando by the second song or half the sponsorship taken away.
Waiting queitly for Mid fielder to come in swinging about NIX out, Metrics, Ozzy Media bashings etc
What is that guy's deal, anyway? He's so ashamed of following the crappiest club in the league that he has to come over and concern-troll fans of the second-crappiest club?

Well he does have that brand new wooden spoon to do his stirring with!

Misery loves company
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
Define "part". If you want to argue that an offer of "15% for a W-League team and 1 home game" us essentially the same thing as "100% and it's now the Cabramatta Phoenix", then I can't do nuthin' for ya, man. You want to believe the worst of Welnix and that Aussie journos wouldn't publish fiction for attention, go for it.
Btw, sorry for offending some people. I'm not trying to claim that Welnix is a perfect management unit with a brilliant PR strategy. Just that believing unsourced gossip is not good for your health.
How do you know that's what the offer was though? I'd be stunned if only one home game was the offering, I'd expect 3-4 at the minimum. not disputing that the reports were woefully incorrect, but what you are suggesting seems to be the minimum amount possible for a 'part share'.
The offer was for 50% stake, 2-3 games in Campbelltown per season for the next 2 years, wearing black and white strip. WelNix turned down the offer.
Okay it seems there’s a lot I need to catch up on, and it’s probably been said, but why are we finding this out from well connected fans on a forum, and not actual press releases?!
This information needs to be spread to the general public. Most people with an interest in the Phoenix don’t come on here and listen to the pod.
Also, if they had a sit down with Piney, and not YF, there would be a headline in the herald within an hour along the lines of
“Phoenix reject partial sale, commit to keeping the club in Wellington”, which is what we’ve been begging to hear.
Fever Tipping Competition
League 2 Champion - Season 1, 2019/20
Did anyone in the elite, ask Rob when he was going to say all this publically and not behind closed doors?
It seems are using Dura as the mouthpiece

Fever Tipping Competition
League 2 Champion - Season 1, 2019/20
Question for a journo if the chance arises: Have Welnix really exhausted all NZ investment possibilities? Both within and external to the football community? When is the last time Rob had a heart to heart with Ivan Vuksich for example; someone who knows something about building a football club.
Remember - the club isn't for sale?
Normo lets say you own a home. A beautiful weatherboard icebox in Taita. You are perfectly happy miserable there with your brood. There is no for sale sign out the front.
One day some meth crack head, after winning lotto, offers you $16.3M ($AUD15M).
Do you sell?
Thats basically what Robert is saying as a disclaimer - in the highly unlikely event of that Australian meth crack head, coming knocking at Welnix's door.

Voerman is right this thread has got insane. It ain't gonna stop. There are bound to be more leaked stories out of Australia. Mostly BS.
I support Welnix, but they have got to handle the media better. They need to talk to them. Though will say as a caveat, that was disappointing Stuff basically just reprinted the SMH story - with no mention that previous stories from that paper had been proven by Dome to be false. In other words just don't reprint a story if is a good chance could also be porkies, and quotes no real sources. No doubt that pissed Welnix off.
However the NZ football media is pretty harmless. Talk to them. Welnix's version of events needs to get out there, and most importantly needs to get across the ditch. Talking soley to YF, won't get their view across in Australia. Christ even Pine's Radio Sport interview with Morrison (mainstream NZ media), didn't make the news in Oz.
They so badly need friends in Aussie, to counter punch, this undermining by FFA. How badly is Michael Cockerill (RIP) missed right now?? A high quality respected Australian journo, who always was a friend of NZ football.
It's also a real shame, that none of the chairmen of other A League clubs are speaking out, against the FFA in defence of the Phoenix. Morrison is obviously highly respected by them and the APFCA group. Why are they so quiet, when he is dealing with all this garbage about the Nix? Was good to see South West Sydney expansion bidders, release a text in support of the Nix. But they need some heavy hitting supporters in Australia right now.
Anyway looking forward to the next pod cast - but Welnix need to use mainstream media in NZ better.

THIS to what you say here, Coochiee, and double THIS to chairmen of the other A-League clubs not getting in behind. Doesn't take much, just an assurance from the others that they appreciate the Nix as a club and as competitors and would be reluctant to lose them. Is that too much to ask?
Lastly it would be helpful if people didn't jump on here accusing Welnix of being corporate raiders, asset strippers or other BS.
Try bleeding $1-2M of your own cash a year, in giving oxygen life support to a football club.
There is going to be plenty of new stories coming about Welnix selling to whoever. But wait until you see an actual sales contract with Rob Morrison's signature scrawled across the bottom, before shouting your outrage through the keyboard..
it's clear that the other owners are using Rob as a patsy and to do their messy work. He makes the enemies and they on the off chance may benefit - low probability however
I would however like Rob to come out in public and state what he said behind closed doors
That has to happen or he has no credibility
Until he does so he is also just using the fever
What he said to the fever was more or less the same as what he said publicly to Piney on the radio wasn’t it? Not sure how he’s using the fever by meeting with some of them and clarifying issues fans have.
I don’t particularly agree with his stance of avoiding the (NZ) media though.
Well, look on the bright side, if the Nix do go under, the next NZ A-League team can play at beautiful Auckland Waterfront Rectangular Stadium.
(Disclaimer: this is written by Bernard Orsman, a person with all the credibility of Dom Bossi.)

PIney is one of the nz media and Rob spoke to him prior to the breaking 15 million dollar news.
Prior
Thereafter when PIney was interviewed he himself said the goal posts have shifted.
A week has passed and no public announcement has been made by Rob if it is all lies or if he has been lying.
All that has happened is a blog by a feverite (not In Robs name). I do however have no doubt that permission was sought.
I'm sorry but he needs to go on public record
Dura's re-signing is public statement enough for me. Why would he sign a 1 yr extension with a club that was being sold or folded? Plus he's clearly stated that Rob has assured him the club is not for sale. That's enough for me to believe that the FFA and Fox have been stirring shark with ha;f truths. Also worth noting that the FFA havent come out declining the sale. Which can only mean it never really existed.
Queenslander 3x a year.
Dura is an interesting deal. He'll be on the bench, perhaps even start a few but he'll also be developing his off the field skills for when he does hang up the boots. I have no issues with that arrangement. Especially as when you speak with him, he is genuine, polite and considerate to those whom he has contact with. A nice way for him to bow out. Caca's two year deal is good for the club. He has developed so fast. Yes, plenty to go but he for me was the sort of player, I pay to watch on a football pitch.

The re-signings are easy deals which are common in most lower league clubs without a coach. Caca - no-brainer. Dura lots of stuff about him being a backroom guy in the future but basically he will probably start even though he needs to retire or stop pushing up field.
Just gloss not heard the podacast yet as I don't usually listen.
It's hardly sent me rejoicing the way the Nix have "hitback"

Because he's old and past it? Who else would sign him?

In the Herald today it puts a new slant on things. Dura said along the lines that Morrison was looking for financial investors in Oz to sound out whom might want to put money into the Nix - NOT buy the Nix. Bit like getting someone to replace Morgan. I see where he is coming from. Be like Morrison approaching Bill Gates to see if he would like to plow money into the Nix for the hell of it. Even I would wear a shirt with Microsoft on it. It doesn't mean Gates want to own the Nix, just put some dosh into it. Oh and for the other Media - I was using Gates's name soley as an example! (Watch the Aussie press pick up on it.

Andy - I've spent hours dealing with Microsoft shark. If they sponsored us I'd go and support WSW.

"Read all about it, read all about it, Bill Gates pledges to save struggling Wellington A-League franchise..."
Yes, the Aussies could have fun with that. ;)
