There are some journalists out there that are something of a mouthpiece for the FFA Media Department.

For example, who pays Nathan Burns’s wages? We do

What?

The money might come from FFA but if the Nix weren't there Nathan Burns wouldn't be getting any.

Marquee do's not mean HUGE money all the time.

Rob Morrison,  Da Boss won't shy away from question but respect his direct answers

yeah but means we have one less player to fit under the cap. not sure we are getting as good value for our players under the cap compared to a couple of other teams.

Cunningham and Brockie probably would have taken up a decent chunk.

Hang on.... did Dome say that? If so, what the fudge are AFA doing? These mouthpieces are talking about us bringing nothing to the A League, is that what the AFA are telling them to say? If so then, what the fudge is up? That is no way to treat a club you want to keep. Something stinks here...

Rob Morrison wrote:

Q: Finally to on field matters - are you confident you can continue to improve next season, and hang onto your better players such as Burns and Bonevacia?

A: Yes, I think we can hang onto both. Ernie (Merrick) has built a good environment, and the players enjoy playing for him. The season finished on a disappointing note, but we are in a much better position that we were last year. Not just at senior level either - we have the reserve team, a flourishing academy, and we will continue to invest in that. In the meantime, there’s a couple of things to sort out - but long term, I believe there’s a huge amount we can continue to contribute towards the A-League.

Yes, Dome said that. 2B's theory, which this backs up, is that FFA is briefing the media against us as a negotiating tactic; they don't want us gone but they want us paying through the nose.

Absolutely love this. Can't wait for the next Cockerill/Harper article where they ignore all of this and just rabbit on about the Nix being commercially naive.

Firstly, we didn’t negotiate the TV deal - the FFA signed something they were happy with, so we can’t be blamed for that.

That's interesting considering we have always been told that we only have the cap.

I get the impression WelNix and Ernie decided they needed to stretch things when the likes of Burns, McGlinchey and Bonevacia became options.

Said that from the day all the hate started. We didn't negotiate the TV deal, the FFA did.  I'd be very surprised, to say the least, if the NRL turn round to the Warriors and say "Okay, you guys go and organise the TV rights for showing games from our competition in New Zealand".

So all they'd be doing, by using the fact that they aren't happy with what they get as a stick to beat us with, is admitting that their business skills aren't what they should be. That argument is, and always has been, bollocks.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Nothing to do with Dome, it was an interview with Rob Morrison.

Yet Blew, Doloras and NapierPhoenix all managed to comment on it fairly strongly without apparently reading it LOL

Don't worry I read it but the quote of the original post gives the impression it was attributed to Mr D Dome.

I knew it was Da Boss who was interviewed.
