Next home game just give them " F.ck You FFA" on the big yellow sign. What are they going to do? Kick us out of the league? Oh , wait..

Shark decision. If I was a supporter of a team from outside Sydney or Melbourne I would be worried, whats next, Perth to far away. Can understand if owners give up now, let the FFA fund us for the season. FFA would prob kick us out straight away and just have a default round to save on costs.

Seems like a lot of support for us on Twitter from Aussie fans. #savetheNix

Someone's already started a change.org petition to keep us in too. lol

Wonder where this will leave the academies, actually hope Welnis give the finger to the FFA and pull out immediately. Then maintain their commitment to  the academies.

I refer you to my comments about the first ten mins of tonights news on TV1 being only about rugby and the first ten mins of the sport news on TV1 also being about rugby and yet the U17's scored about 25 seconds for their wonderful achievement. Thanks a fudgeen lot New Zealand media.

Seriously LG its the world Cup semi final results and the final pending, you couldn't expect anything else

TV 3 did better...rugby, Lydia Ko's win then the U17s incl all 3 goals.

The FFA are not kicking us out, We really need to look at what was not addressed to get 5 years and not 10. Maybe this is what is needed to fix the current issues - The main one being Television coverage/Media Dollars.

Flares.  So many flares.

Apparently if you fight with other clubs and rip flares that is atmosphere and is encourgaed, as is horrendous fudgeing football like that derby on Saturday night.

They really are incompetent.  You have to wonder if Gallop is still on the NRL payroll.

Yeah I'm talking more about the "poofball" people.

But I've also had a look at other forums, (they have terrible numbers), and there's a couple who are anti-nix. The most a shame but "meh' and a few rightly pissed off, again not by our loss but at how stupid the FFA are.

Only one way out of this, and that's for Wellington sports fans to turn-up in bulk on Nov 13 with a mass protest on the back of the petition.

FFA

F U C K I N G

S H I T

C U N T S.

Saw on 3News and was immediately dismayed, depressed and angered.

To me, it doesn't really make sense from any business or sustainability standpoint.

"FFA has carefully evaluated the role and contribution of the Wellington franchise in terms of game development, player pathway, commercial factors, broadcast rights and the long-term strategic outlook," said Gallop.

Gallop spurting his usual array of  C R A P all over the place.

1) Game development - Weenix, Wellington Phoenix Football Academy, and the financial investment that comes with running those programmes.

2) Player pathway - Where did some of the leagues best players play before moving on to either more moneyed up clubs, or clubs on the European or Asian contient? Rojas, Barbarouses, Burns, Smeltz for example. Not to mention players who have represented their national sides while at the Phoenix, in no particular order - Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Costa Rica, Barbados, Malta. As well as a deserved expression of interest from Curacao.

3) Commercial factors? What commercial factors - we've got some big name international and local brands that are happy to put their name to an exciting footballing entity. The crouds could do with a vast improvement, but for F U C K sake we're not about to go belly up like some of the Australian sides, who recently were handed 20 year contract extensions! It's just madness!

4) Broadcast Rights - Alright, got us there - Sky Television are useless pricks.

5) Long term strategic outlook - A smaller League? Less games? A team from the footballing wilderness of Canberra - Why not have a team from Alice Springs FFS? It's pretty reasonable to assume that if the Nix get the boot, A-League interest will be absolutely nothing on this side of the Tasman. If the Phoenix aren't their why the hell do I want to watch Sydney play Perth?

Welnix should just can it and say they're no longer interested in the long term 'vision' of this League as well as the 'direction' the FFA wants to take. Better yet, let the FFA take over the licence and drain them of a bit of cash just to prove a point. This is a kick in the guts, revert back to the NSL days BULL S H I T.

So very, very angry. Apologies for the rant.

Absolutely cut up about the news. Everyone involved in the club; fans, players, management, sponsors and owners have been hard done by and let down by multiple parties. I honestly don't see us talking the four year deal and I hope we go out loudly. This is catastrophic for New Zealand football. Born and raised in wellington but moved to Auckland so definitely u going to come down for as many games as possible this season. I hope we hear from the club soon, whatever the Welnix's decision I will stand by it. As n 18 year old I'm in shock my childhood club may be pulling the plug

It's been fun while it lasted. My pick is Welnix will tell them to go fudge themselves with their license. Participation for rest of the year is probably in some doubt.

It's all about the FFA being puppets of the AFC.

If NZF cut ties with the OFC and joined the AFC we may have a different outcome.

Alas the amatuer hacks at NZF appear to prefer the easy path with the easiest $'s, which is not for the long term benefit of football in New Zealand

Sorry about the F bombs, just angry at the moment. Thanks to The Exploited for the idea.

There really is nothing nice about the FFA

You go to the Football you have to pay
The dollar is the language that they all speak
they don't really bother about the relationship link

F*CK THE FFA

They keep their secrets undercover
the rich don't bother about the nix if they suffer
this ain't the land of milk and honey
cause all they want is money money money

F*CK THE FFA

Cluster bombs are fudge all new
you'd better start running when they drop on you
run into a shelter, play by the rules
does not matter cause they shark on you

I would be incredibly surprised if the AFC care, let alone have anything to do with this.  That issue is blown way out of proportion.

Aussie here, don't post often.

Shockingly stupid decision!

The FFA are already juggling Roar and Jets and now they have to rush a new club into existence in less than a year. Idiotic!

If 10 years isn't on the table Welnix should take the four or five year license, a lot of things can change in that time.

Nix are good for the league, rock solid owners, fans cause no trouble and not a cellar dweller basket case on the field.

Very shoddy if the FFA drop a well run, viable club. Makes no sense.

Attendance and TV numbers are down across the league this season, is this a corporate knee jerk reaction to that? Business decision, not a football decision. Is this the new HAL model, every couple of years dump a team with low ratings (GCU) and parachute in a team from Syd/Melb (WSW)?

The next Sydney team won't be the big success WSW was.

If a third Sydney team is the answer to all problems why not add them in addition to WP? I don't see why it has to be an either or proposition.

Swapping a safe, reliable WP for an unknown quantity is an unnecessary risk. If they end up with another Clive Palmer it would be something.

Just like with NQF, this is going to piss off a lot of football fans, not just WP fans.

What make this worse is NQF were struggling financially, WP on the other hand are sound.

I hope this all gets sorted out.
