I have had it pointed out to me that the bench is now 5 players and we have only selected 4 on the bench, so here is a special vote for that final spot on the bench. The options are the two highest voting players who didn't make the team in the 3 outfield categories. This poll will only run for one week, as we still have the coach to vote for.

Voting closes midnight April 2nd (Direct Link)

If the Fever vote him in to both roles, there is nothing in the rules against player coaches.

That's really tough. Feel the bench needs another forward, but so hard to pick between Daniel, Leo, Greenacre and Brockie who were all good for different reasons, and all had limitations.

Okay, I'm down to Boxy, Daniel and Leo.

Greenie shouldn't be an impact sub IMO, he has to start if he's playing. All of those three would add oomph to the bench and were the next cabs of the rank anyway IIRC?

Has to be Daniel, his entry onto the field always lifted the hopes of the crowd.

You forget how good he was. Came to us as the assist leader in the competition. Quick as well. But couldn't score for his life! Would have been a great player if he'd found some shooting boots.

Just remember, it is not just about success or failure but how they have moulded the team on and off it. Could be a toughie as all the candidates have created and or given difference attributes.

Ricki for me in a tough call. He managed to get a result (W or D) in 57% of matches Ernie was 50%. Surprisingly Ricki is also ahead in win Ratio 35% against 34%.

At times Ernie had us playing the far more attractive football, particularly early on in the "Burns season", but then again who can forget some of the football we played up until the "Hand of Payne" with Ifill, Brown, Greenie, Dura and others at their best.

I reality, Rickis biggest failing was he stayed on probably two seasons too long and his message became stale, as did Ernies incidentally, but Ricki was also responsible for bringing together a group of players who formed what was a great culture at the club and he held the team together in some pretty difficult times when the fabled Terry money dried up and had to do everything on the smell of a stale souvalaki - No reserve team, no acadamy, no army of fitness gurus and at time not even an assistant coach.

He also gets a tick for integrity in my book, he has never publically bagged past or present owners or players.

Certainly had his shortcomings as a coach, but was the man for the Nix and NZ Football at the time

This is better- I remember against Fury or GCU- freekick Daniel to Brown...business done...don't have anyone who puts away headers or who delivers quite like Daniel...though Doyle has his moments...

Will there be a tshirt or poster produced by YF of this team? Would be good as a keeper, especially a colour poster.

Interesting thought, Cam from the podcast crew would have pictures of some of the players that could be used possibly. Would need someone far more creative than me to spearhead the project tho.

Just a reminder that voting closes next Sunday.

What about something along the lines of this where all you'd need to do is insert the players names. You wouldn't even need pictures. Just have the subbuteo players in Phoenix colours. Could even have the different kits if you wanted. Black, first stripey, spikey etc

Oh boy I love this idea. The different home kits would be a nice touch too!

Watch this space.
