Time will tell, but at least Riera's not a journeyman looking for his last pay day.....and by all accounts very grateful/respectful for this opportunity.

Reira is a great guy and well liked by the other ACFC squad members. He'll be greatly missed at Kiwitea Street. I think he has been signed because of his tenacity in midfield and his possession/passing skills, both of which seemed to be lacking in the Phoenix midfield when they played ACFC. I think he'll do well. I don't blame the lad for taking up a professional contract but please don't nick any more of our squad this season.

Well he's a player in an area we are short. If he can live up to the physicality of the A-league, and still play his game we will see. I hope he gets a fair bit of game time on Sunday, especially if Manny or Lia is not up to the job. Perhaps convince Manny to go to right back.

James Musa or lookalike spotted at NixHQ.

De Vries is a fair bit skinnier than Musa yeh?

The question is did anyone see him on Courteny Place....ScottishBoy? Also exams SB? were you thirteen or something when the 'Nix kicked off? You've been calling for B0B0 Balde for the last decade or something it seems...

Also do Carlos and Albert speak the same Spanish and will Lia or Muscat now have to learn Spanish to play in the same midfield?

His English is just as impenetrable.

"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...

Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

Okay so why no Justin Gulley?

Permalink Permalink

Because Merrick doesn't think he's had enough games to prepare him for the big time yet.

Does anyone here honestly think the Sherminator is better than Gulley?

Permalink Permalink

Shermy is the best player in the team, hands down.

Sherminator spotted on Lambton Quay at 2.10pm. Strolling around with a Mcdonalds drink looking a bit lost.

is Shermy is signed as LB / RB cover then he should be Fenton's replacement, instead of trying to convert others to play out of position...

Just by reading the news articles etc it seems to me that Shermy is not up to the standard at all, hence Ernie is looking for other options in Gully / Boxall / Adams etc

If this is the case i don't see the point of signing this guy really...

Gulley has struggled defensively against non A-league teams, probably not a good idea throwing him in the deep end this weekend.

It makes sense only to a point. "Puedro" is not a word. "Cuervo" is a raven or a crow.
The rest sort of makes sense: "Cuantos jugadores espanoles en su equipo ahora?" means "how many Spanish players in your team now?".

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Adams looked lost there on Sunday and Shermy has only played LB & RW in pre-season. Gulley looked on paper to be the best option.

Same same really, equally worried about any of them. It is interesting that Gulley has had the most time there but hasn't been given then nod.

Kenny Cunningham spotted in the Adidas store at 1.50. He is actually much shorter than I thought but he is quite solid. Was having a chat and a laugh with a few people in the store which is a little surprising as I thought he didn't know any English? Apparently he is fit and starting for this weekend so will be good to see him in action for the first time!
