I thought the forum rule was two puns in a thread and you're banned?

A mod needs to get in there. Badly.

A lot of conjecture over the chances of Ben Sigmund and Andrew Durrante signing to bolster our defence. In fact in the new podcast I believe the bloke from Four Four Two says Durrante has been talking to the Nix managment.

Joel Porter is another name that's been mentioned as a signing target.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Are we allowed to bump on YF? Maybe I need to re-read the rules.

There's always one, isn't there .

After being part of the hijack of the other transfers thread, I'm just trying to be public spirited and move this thread back up for people who want to post and read about transfers without wading thru all the stuff on the other thread. Sorry I bothered

Of course, if I deleted my 'Bump' post.......

as someone said even if we get sigmund and durante  (and if lia thrives at right back) we'll still need cover and Rees has done well

Agree, Rees makes us look more solid at the back, maybe still leeking goals but not so many school boy errors.

Wel, if it all panned out, that would mean we'd have Durante, Sigmund, Dodd, Lochead, Lia, Christie, Old and Rees.

I think somebody's gonna have to go!

Phillips signed a one year extension at West Brom - almost certain to retire at the end of that deal, just wants to prove he can do it in the EPL one last time.

I was speaking to a Nix player after last week's game and he said that there would be more changes than most would expect before the start of next season.  O'Dor is the first, there's a couple more to come.  Sorry, but can't say what because that would give away my sourse, and he might get in bother if that happens.

Wise: whatever "sourses" are, you certainly shouldn't give them away.

Rees would surely have precedence over Old and Christie. Even if we are lucky enough to snare some top defenders we will need cover. In fact I think the guy has done an excellent job: good in the air, resolute, very few errors, and distributes the ball well. And a great comedian too - that rugby tackle in the box the other night was the best slapstick I've seen all season!

If we are keeping players based on their rugby tackling ability StopOut, then we have to keep Royce Brownlie. A smile comes to my face every time I remember his tackle against that Newcastle defender a few months ago.

I'd rather of kept O'Dor than Old but now I guess Old will stay..

Gone:

Cleberson - terrible
George- terrible
Ross Aloisi- retiring
Steven O'dor- study leave

Questionable existing players:

Jeremy Christie-24 year old, All White, Squad member status if any thing, but he not up to what we want technically.
Steven Old - 21 year old, All White, Squad member status and so may still have some future in the Nix.
Ahmad Elrich- not the marquee player we wanted, he should go or give up marquee status and demoted to squad member status (not even key player or first team status) for the season before proving himself as he once was.
Royce Brownlie-been on the bench for a reason.

re-think;

Richard Johnson should be promoted from Squad status to first team status to replacing solid defensive midfield work of Ross Aloisi despite turning 34 in April. A good solid professional.

buy?

Leo Bertos- hard to ignore quality attacking midfielder, he could replace Ahmad Elrich

Ree?- hopefully he stick around.
Sigmund?- A good defender looking to get the step up and it would prepare him for the WC2010.
Durante?- dunno much about him.

Rees to go. Was only a stop gap measure and not really up to it at this level. I would think we would need at least 3 new defenders to be competive next season.

A dog with a bone :)
