We missed getting Gary Alexander from Milwall. Staying there

Tony P was on his way to pick up the first striker triallist, Lithuanian Nerijus Astrauskas

2nd striker triallist wont be here "till later this month"  which I think he means June when he says that, and will be a "big fella."

Both are target men !! And if they are good enough both will stay.

Select Wellington Sat 30 May 1.00pm. Interview starts 10 minutes in.

Half decent interview compared to what Dewhurst usually asks

+ How can Jeremy Christie make the NZ cof squad but wont be resigned?

Half the All Whites would struggle to make the Nix. Steven Old ring any bells?

What did Tony say in this interview? I'm overseas so havnt heard it.

We shouldnt get too excited about this Lithuanian being an "international" as I see he has only won one international cap for his country.
If Jack Pelter isnt on the radar of British clubs anymore then the Phoenix should sign him up. Good young prospect.
I'm a bit disappointed about that though, a year ago he was at Sunderland and now hes disappeared completely. Anyone know where??

I heard Tawa offered him a trial but he turned them down.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Hey does anyone know when Chris Greenacre will be arriving?

I'm quite dissapointed that there hasn't been much fuss over the arrival of the Lithuanian striker. No article on the nix website, not even a text alert. I thought this would be the perfect way to get interest in the nix after a boring off season and maybe get some more members re-signed!!!!

I can understand how they might be a little cagey about advertising a guy who is on trial. Building him up as the clubs next big signing then only have the guy decide he doesn't want to stay or coaching staff find out he's actually no good. A little note on the website would good enough and I agree with some other comments that some pretty general info is really lacking on the website like practice games etc...

Have you seen the angst on here after a couple of friendly kick-arounds ?

Why would you advertise that and quadruple the numbers and angst over meaningless games ?

Disappointing that we didn't end up getting Alexander. That goal he scored was brilliant.

Yep, it is. Is News saying they are better off hiding them?
Why play a game if its meaningless?
The only reason there is 'angst' is?,  cause they have stuggled against amateurs.
Maybe they do need some more support on the sidelines and someone to get 'up them'.
I don't now about you guys but there is such a thing as pride in your proformance, no matter who your playing.

 I think HN's got a point.
We're analyzing and dissecting the performance of every player from the last two games at Porirua Park as if it were the middle of the season!
OK sure we're hungry for everything on the Phoenix right now... but lets face it, they are going to be rusty because..
its the start of the season,
because there's new players in the squad still finding their feet,and...
half the squad isn't even here yet!
The games are only important for training and for management to assess individuals and try combinations.

Any gameplan the Phoenix have in these matches will have weaknesses with key people away and naturally the teams playing them will make the most of it. Hell, they're all up for it,a Phoenix scalp - pre-season or not - gives you bragging rights!
Once the team is all together fit primed and ready...different story!
Until the team get to that point there's no way Phoenix marketing is going to throw money at it ...the "product " has to be right.

BUT ..for those of us fanatics, obsessed and (should be) committed individuals Tony P has confirmed..here
Next game is at Porirua Park 7pm on Wednesday 3rd June and then the 10th of June. Training will be at Newtown tomorrow (today) at 10.30am.

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!
