Wikipedia lists him as an "English-Australian footballer" and he's been there since 2006 so I'm guessing that's the case. My bad I guess

Brisbane Roar have signed former Rangers and Motherwell player Bob Malcolm

We should look at Kenny Deuchar

I admit his form has gone off the past 2 seasons, but he was good enough to play for Gretna in the Scottish Premier league, and had some great scoring stats from Scot Div 1 and 2

He did alright for Sydney Fc a couple of years ago,but I think he would want big money. It couldnt hurt to inquire though.

Thought he was average as f**k at Sydney and because two years has passed he'd probably have even more injury issues.

He started off well for Sydney, but I think he played when Terry Butcher was coach and he could stifle most talented players.Either way I think the phoenix need a hell of a striker to replace Smeltz  and it doesnt look like they have got one yet.

Chris Killen to come home : http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/2470331/Chris-Killen-targetman

Chris Killen would be a great signing but not to sure if he would do the job, even though he's at Celtic and other places but he doesn;t impress me that much, but if there isn;t anything better we better claim him.

I think Riki Herbert would be in two minds. It would be good for his Phoenix team to get Chris Killen. But it would be terrible for NZ Football to lose another Euro contract. We want as many guys playing over there as possible. He should never have left Hibs!!! He was getting game time and he was therefore scoring and developing. If hed stayed there hed be a bettter player today!

Change of topic: Does anyone know who the Phoenix played in their latest trial game and what the score was? Who scored etc.

If Killen comes, hopefully he can replicate his Hibs form. I honestly have never seen him play well.

Sign Killen.  He's stagnating in Europe.  If he comes here he'll help us and we'll help him, mutual benefit so it's worth it.

To be honest ive never really seen the best of Chris Killen, highly touted but never looks better than anyone else on the field.

However a youtube link shows that he can get past a player...or 4.

He would probly be on 10,000ish pounds a week at celtic? And really who would want to downgrade to nz/au $1,000,000 a year

Would be a great signing if we could pull it off.

Just for the fact that a year and a half ago Celtic wanted him and he was one of the hottest strikers in the SPL which is a cut above the A-league.

Add to that, he is a local boy who we have not seen enough of = Sign at all costs!

I agree that when he has played here he has not stood out but the handful of games he has played for the AW's here are usually fly by night visits from the other side of the world and not a great way to gauge a player's ability. Let's get him over here for a full injury-free season and see what he can do.

Good to see Tony P stepping out and making his intentions clear, shows a bit of ambition which is great news for the club !

At the moment he's staring down the barrell of earning absolutely nothing once his Celtic deal finishes, coming back here would give him a chance to re-establish himself before a return to Europe.

I assume Tony might even talk of a loan with Celtic as well, if we cover half his salary as marquee or something then Celtic have a some rielief on the wage bill and Killen get's the chance to rebuild the career... as well as play here which he seems to be keen on doing at some point.
