....only one I can think who would move now would be Dadi....could do worse for last 2 months of the season.
I'd be more than happy with Dadi for the last rounds of the season and the play-offs.
He is a very good player - he had the better of our CBs last season. Don't know why he's fallen out of favour at the Glory but as long as it's not a deal breaking reason then I think he'd be a great target man with Greeny running off him.
Longer term no as he is getting towards his best by date but shorter term absolutely.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Correct me if im wrong but its the Fifa transfer window so Phoenix can look abroad as well right? any good players from Ivory Coast
Yes but will be hard to attract players from abroad when theres only a handful of games left and no playoffs yet.. American players maybe on loan?
And for the Ivorians, I heard that we had Drogba and the Toure brothers all ready to come but the have African Cup so couldn't make it.

Agreed. A decent alternative for the final part of the season IMO and the more I think about it, along with the Facebook stuff, I think this is actually going to happen.

FIFA window?
Sounds like the club Excelsior Jaycee John was playing for in Belgium went belly-up, so we could always ask him to come back and play at the stadium

That would be a very interesting experiment to see what level he plays at.
Can't imagine he'd fancy the weather, although Belgium probably not that much different overall.

No way! I'm sure hes been having nightmares of westpac since Nov 14.

he was a class player....but we could not affford him. Belgium Div 1 is a good standard....they would get paid much bigger wages than the A-league.

I'll take him, just, for the rest of this season. Next season is a no go for me though...

The comments on Dadi's facebook don't really look promising for the Phoenix. They look more promising for him to move to Europe

How did Tranmere rate the Dadi / Greenacre combo when they played together?
I realise Greenacre had a few golden seasons for them, but did Dadi make any sort of impact?
Anyone on the YF forum who follows Tranmere and would have this info?
They never played together, Greenacre arrived the season after Dadi left.

Thought I heard during the CCM match the commentators make a remark about Smeltzy wanting to leave GCU and suggesting he could return to Welly. Anyone else heard something similar?
I think they mentioned the possibility of him going overseas, but I don't think they made any suggestion of him returning to us.
Not unless his wife changed her mind again. Why the hell would he come back to us?
id be more than happy with Dadi. Him and greenacre up front with ifill and bertos creating havoc out wide sounds good to me.

No, I agree with Scooby, Bertos > Caceres.
Watch Caceres when he's not playing his former team, will be back to lazy.

Thats what I thought too, but Bertos had much less effect than Caceres. On form i'd take Caceres but on potential you would have Bertos.
Caceres on for Bertos at 70 or vice versa depending on form. Daniel's injury cpuld proove pretty untimely for him.
Injuries are part of being a professional. I think if Caceres puts in another solid performance at home against Brisbane, then Daniel will get bench time.
But we do still need another genuine striker to cover if Greenie gets injured again. Hell offer Smeltz the vacant Marquee spot or something :P

Do we have Hearfield signed for next season? I think he's improved a lot and has the potential to be a very important player for us next year.
Also please get Mckain he's absolutely class, IMO much better than Sigmund and we need him and durante starting.
Mixed feelings about Reddy, he's impressed me so far and it would be interesting who would start when Paston is fit. But in saying that for the AW i would hate to see Paston not starting each week.

No, he's not signed. But I hope he is re-signed, likewise with McKain.

Reddy is going to Sydney.
Bit of a shame, he's quality. Shows a lot of confidence unlike Crowther.

Hardly suprising considering he's 8 years more experienced.

From the Perth fans forum;
"It's official, Dadi has been released to Wellington Phoenix.......source is very reliable...."
Hope it's right - we seem to have a really positive culture in the team (credit to Herbert and team leaders) that revitalises and can bring the best out of players (e.g. Caceres). An energised Dadi would be brilliant side by side with Greeny.
Fingers crossed.

Mmm could be good, but I'm still uncertain
Permalink
Could be good as it gives Ricki the opportunity to play a different (more direct, attacking) style (esp with Greenie feeding off him) which is never a bad thing as this also provides opposition coaches with an additional challenge when facing us. We may well soon see...
