Why the f**k do you come on here, ask for our opinion and then bag it when you get it? Watch the game yourself and you will see Hearfield was average, which makes him one of our better players tonight
Ricki!!!! What the fuk was with that, tactically it made no sense from the start. We have an inability to play through the middle, we get someone sitting in the hole behind the striker and all they do is play it wide hoping for a good cross, where is someone with the ability to play a decent ball to a player with some brains making a decent run
last week i came close to being embaraased by being a phoenix fan, tonight i went way past embarassed. That was shameful and disrespectul to people like Terry and although i dont like to say it but to us aswell. They showed no passion for the shirt or for each other. Every time they got the ball they had space to run and make passes, we had no shape and ran around with no apparent game plan. One instance late in the first half i remember is we were on the edge of the box and 3 guys all got in the way of each other in a horizontal line. no one making a run all just looking sideways so they could whip it wide for someone to send in a cross. I dont mind losing when you a)either lose to a very very good team or b) you get pipped in a tight one. Tonight was neither, didn't think Adelaide were sensational and in no way was that at all close. 3-0 flattered us.
very very angry but at least it makes the bop loss bearable..... whew glad i got that off my chest. luckily for my taxi driver home from the 4 kings i didn't unleash on him

Did not see game but this is a harsh call especially coming from you were they that bad as on paper you have a very strong side

I don't know about the shame and disrespect part, but it's a not unfair assessment of how awful we were. You hate to see your team play without heart AND tactical awareness.

Didn't see the game but I am lost for words. . . . Who else besides Smeltz and Convey that can be in the right position to receive and shoot in the team?

Next game stick to the 4-4-2 with the proven.

Smeltz and Convey to start up front next game.
Ferrante, Johnson, Bertos, Cortez in the midfield.
Lochhead, McKains, Durante, Mulligan in the defence still.
Paston in goal, time for a change.

Bench: Costa, Gao, Dodd, Moss, Kwasnik They do better as substitues than being in the starting lineup for the meanwhile.

How do we know he didn't just take the action everyone wanted to, and in fact improved morale ?

Yes, I'm not even certain I watched the Knights play as badly as that.  Looks flash on paper, looks rubbish on the pitch.

                                    Ferrante

                      Bertos                           Gao

                                       Daniel

                                     Smeltz

The attacking 3 Bertos Gao and Daniel could free roam but always stay close enough to help out Ferrante in the midfield and close enough to Smeltz in attack.

My subs would definitely be Costa, Coveny, Mulligan, Draper and Muscat.

Dodd and Johnson see ya later.

you only have 10 players...? get with the program. One word for the game dis-a-pointing.

They just dont come out to play as can be seen by the early goals in each half.  Last night they didnt even try.

Last year   Solid Goalie, Resonable mid, good up front, crap at the back
This year    Moss not his self, crap mid, back super crap and with the exception of Smeltz nothing up front.

All of the "Great off season signings" have been varying degrees of sh*te.

The "Superioir fitness training" has them looking like a tired bunch of old sl*gs.

What is most worrying long term is the Phoenix cannot start to be a "Poor draw card" as was mentioned earlier.  That gives ammunition to the Aussie backers who will push for our spot once expansion is finished.

Might get to the point where the hoime fans might have to make our displeasure known.  I bought a season ticket and while success is never guaranteed, I expect them to at least try to win.

I think we need to stick to the formation that we foirmulated during the preseason - 4-2-3-1. Also you've got 5 subs, sorry, but I'm very pissed off and in a nitpicking move so while I'm at it - Cortes, not cortez but preferably Daniel. McKain not McKains, and please don't say I'm pedantic
You know we belong together...

Well a nites sleep hasnt helped how gutted i feel after that lack lustre effort last nite.As a fan you may accept a loss by your team if they put the effort in,but in last nites peformance they just looked disinterested and certaily showed little will or pride in their individual performance .

You have to ask whats happened in and around the team for their form drop so dramaticaly the last couple of weeks.Where is that promising looking passing game we saw signs of in the pre-season,as i said previously where is this much vaunted fitness, and where is the players individual pride in their performance.Maybe less time in Courtenay  Place by some might help with their efforts.

I'd like to thank the Nix for last nights performance, never before on a saturday night have i got so much housework done, in 45 minutes i did the dishes (washed and dried), folded the laundry and tidied up all the junk mail paper into the recycling bin.

Shame i didn't save some for when Everton played this am as well

That performance was horrendous.

I thought our defence was supposed to have improved? We looked just as bad as last year. And if Mulligan was supposed to be the answer, then I'd hate to know what the question was.

12 months on and nothing has changed.  Progress, what progress?  The faces are different but the performance, style, tactics exactly the same.  I didn't watch the game as I had other commitments but I knew how it would be.  I saw enough in the first two to know we are going to struggle big time again this season.  When will the fans wake up and start giving the team some feedback on that rubbish we've seen this season?  Why is Ricki not able to motivate his team?

I feel very frustrated and angry.

Herbert also refused to use Shane Smeltzs absence as an excuse for defeat.

Illness ruled the clubs hot shot out of Saturday nights 3-0 reverse at Hindmarsh Stadium and how Phoenix missed him.

Herberts men made it three games without a win and they have now shipped seven goals in their last two outings.

Herbert said: We just havent looked good enough the last two weeks. We just werent competitive at all tonight.

Shane (Smeltz) travelled with the team but hes been pretty dodgy for the last couple of days. It would have been a miracle if wed got him over the line to start. But theres 21 other players.

Shane is a decent player isnt he? Hes in the news every day, everyone wants to sign him, lets be honest about that.

But weve got to be better than that. There were opportunities for players tonight who quite frankly didnt take them.

When asked if he could take any positives from the performance, Herberts two-word reply spoke volumes: Not really, he said.

With a large chunk of his squad now on international duty, the coach hoped it would be a chance for players to have a good hard think and return to the training pitch with a different mood.'

Its like it was an already foregone conclusion that we would lose and if we got anything well good on us. Thats not a winning attitude..thats pathetic!

We are not hungry... Why are we not playing like we want it...?
I don't really want to bag us to heavily because that's a typical kiwi fan thing to do but...
We really have to pick up. This season was looking do promising with signings but...
Somethings going to have to change immediately.
If there's one thing I hate it's Aussie commentators bagging NZ teams for the sake of it...
But last night you just had to agree with them.

Sorry Yugoboss but last night the midfield was non existent and Bertos and Gao did little to put pressure on Adelaide, Ferrante on his own could never cover the space that would be in front of the back four. Agree that Daniel must be a starter, when Ricki writes his teamsheet the first name should be Smeltz followed quickly by Daniel.

Yeah, but the players and coach can hide from this.  They can't hide on the pitch.  If the team plays rubbish the fans need to let them know what they think not just blindly or quietly put up with it in the stands which is what we get at the moment.  All we do is boo the ref when we get tonked at home.

Let's face it, how many teams have we dominated and taken apart over the last 12 months?  Perth - once.  It's not good enough.

can't argue with the fact we are poo at the moment, but i just don't see how booing our players will help them to play better - they might as well play all games away if that was the case.

And i think i've said this a billion times on this forum - the players KNOW when they play crap, no one on here has to tell them, that's just stupid.
