So how many goals do we need to let thru before you'd make defensive changes? Or would these 'best players' give us 4 goals a game? (which we'd need if we're gonna let 3 thru as we are now).

We saw him all last season....
Yes yes I know.
It was a roundabout way of saying "Why the f**k is Daniel only getting half games this year!!" I guess it's because we have 'better' players this year, like the ones on display last night..

ANybody know anything about rugby - when's the next game on??

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!
hopefully from here on we dont go down the same path as last season. I realy want the nix to make the top 4. I guess everyone else does to.
I've changed my mind on Daniel, even though he's lazy, he and Lochhead combine well (and Lochhead was miserable last night) so my starting XI would go as follows:
Paston
Mulligan Sigmund Durante Lochhead
Bertos Ferrante Brown Daniel
Smeltz Costa
When's Brown back? He'll add a lot of extra grunt into our midfield, something we desperately need. I know everybody says Costa's only 18 and won't add anything, well, fact of the matter is he's desperate to prove people wrong, and he wants to do well (something that can't be said for anybody yesterday) so give him a start, and midway through second half put Coveny on for him.
I like Ricki as a coach, but this is really getting horrendous. We have a brilliant team on paper, and if in a few games things haven't changed then Terry will have to take a serious look at whether or not he should be coaching.
Many more performances like that and we'll be dead last.
It'd be interesting to hear Tony P's thoughts on the match.
He is nowhere near as bad as everybody says he is.
ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH
bullsh*t he did. i still wouldn't have El**ch back at all. no doubt if he had played last night he would've been just as bad as anyone else.
In no small part I imagine because Newcastle and Central Coast played the final last season with virtually no imports in either side.
I don't know whether you are saying this is a good thing or bad thing but i don't see that as being a great rationale for us only having 1. Sure the Jets won the thing and the Mariners were pretty decent as well but its an entirely different dynamic.
I really do hope the club haven't said well these guys did it so we'll do it

Agree with the points above. I'm a Jafa and a big Nix fan. I watched the game on television last night as Ive done every game thats been broadcast since the club started.
I cant remember the last time I witnessed such a gutless, inept performance from a sporting team I follow. (Okay, the Black Caps on a bad day come close.)
I agree with loyalgunner. Give Costa a run. See where he's at. And Smeltz will recover and score more goals. Some of our make-shift strikers (midfielders) will chip in with the odd goal now and then. Maybe our "crack" (make that "cracked") defence will finally get their act together. But tinkering with the current squad won't fix the rot.
If we're not putting pressure on the opposition at the other end, they can run at us all night with impunity as they did last night. And we will continue to lose. Big time.
The Nix are within a couple of games of becoming a joke. A TV commentator last night called the first half worst than anything he could remember from the NZ Knights. Does it get much worse than that?
If ever we needed to face the fact its now: we desperately need one, make that two strong, quality strikers who will run at the opposition all night and put the fear of defeat into the other team. What our opponents are currently doing to us.
Smeltzy can't do it on his own. (And we got hammered last week even though he played.)
Remember - we all started the season believing we really had a sniff of a top 4 placing.
At the moment the only thing I 'sniff', is the scent of a team ready to come apart at the seams.
The piss poor performances won't be fixed by f**king about with the formation or who plays where - the team lacks leadership and, because of that, it seems to lack character and unity - I don't sense the players are really committed to each other and the cause.
Allegedly

Ramos better hope he beats Chelski tonight then.

exactly - you can dick around with the formation/positions all you want, but surely it's better to stick with one and try make it work - so all the players know what role they should be providing

Really ?
So who are Sydney's four players and who are the Central Coasts ?
OK Hard News - fair point. Certainly three of the major threats for the top four all have, namely, Melbourne, Adelaide and Queensland. In my view, their imports are a huge boost to their likely success. Whether or not you include McFlynn and Enfield as imports in Sydney's squad (you suggest they are boderline), Sydney arguably has the creme de la creme of the Aussie players and probably is the side least in need of imports. They have also recruited a marquee player in John Aloisi who could still easily be plying his trade in Europe. Central Coast has the German import, Andre Gumprechet, and possibly Adrian Caceres (he's definitely Argentinian, but I'm not sure if he's classed as an import).

Is it to early to mention these names Eddie Krncevic, my choice, Branko & Nick Theo.
I hope you guys come good there are lots of people in OZ have been thinking the Nix's are the real deal, on paper one of the best sides in the league with an expectation of crowds growing and bringing NZ football along with you .

Honest.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Honest.
[/QUOTE] 'tis a shame we play a 90min game, although it is far from the truly pressing issues.
