So FFA wants to expand the A-League? What about giving the league better refereeing before increasing the number of matches each week and the number of incompetent referees required to officiate them??

Also... how bad was Tim Brown? did he do anything for us? May as well just not have him and play 4-2-3-1 with Lia and Muscat at DM and some combo of our attacking mids across the 3

I like the guy but you are right - he was invisible tonight.

The refs in this league is the reason it'll never get any better. Actually it might get to MLS standard the refs over their are about the same.

McGlinchey well and truly playing for an All white shirt here.

Ironic that he has to score a goal against Ricki's 'other' team to get an All White shirt.    Dam you McGlinchy !!

(ps I still love you wee mac)

sh*t if we can't get a draw against 3rd on the ladder, how the hell are we supposed to get a result against 1 & 2. F U C K

That doesn't excuse the fact the ref was pish.

Three for me, and two for them.

Just as the refs probably can't do my job, I'd be hopelessly incompetent to referee in the A-League.

Actually that turned out to be an unintended oxymoron.ahmad2011-01-09 21:10:24

I didn't think the ref was too bad, at least he gave us free kicks when we deserved them (well . . 75% of the time) Dura shouldn't have gotten that card though. The ref was half ok. the other half was sh*t.

What about when it's 2 Australian teams? He does it then too. Or is it then State parochialism?
No, he's just crap.

They're not biased against us.  Go and look at some of the dreaful decisions in the early game that had no New Zealanders in it.

They're just hopeless.

CCM deserved the win. Unfortunately.

We huffed and puffed, but never really looked like equalising.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Tim Brown - Hows your holiday going?
Permalink Permalink

Ever heard of playing home team advantage guys? Agree he was dodgey on some calls but there isn't much he can do when he's so blind he can't tell a dive from a foul.
And why does Ricki persist with the "don't change a winning team" formula?! Usually I'd be all for the idea but seeing as it's two games played in close succession, the midweek one was very fast paced too, and throw in the fact that we haven't actually won back to back games this season, somethings telling me that it just isn't working.

Give Lia another holiday to the mount seems he plays better when he has a holiday before the game.

Ifill, Rojas, Ward, Clapham.

Sign Clapham and have these 4 in the line up and we will get results. Please come back soon Ifill.

I know this will upset many of the forum regulars who feel they're better and more loyal nix supporters than others, but what do hacks like lia, daniel donkey mac and bertos add to the side?

exactly. so why sub rojas and ward with 30m+ to play for a couple of hacks and leave greenie on the bench for a lame donkey?
as for everybody blaming the ref for the result, wake up

Rojas looked a bit injured and pretty fatigued and so did Ward.

I guess playing 2 games in a short amount off time was wearing them down.

Because Marco was knackered.  He was playing in front of the back four and had run out of legs when he was subbed.

They did a shot of him and he looked freaking exhaughsted. He was either crying, or it was sweat drops rolling down his face. Looks like he can't handle the humidity?

no buffon, we were sh1te. try saying it, it helps with the cure. 2 chances in 1st 3min, nothing in remaining 87m. season on the line, great to see what it means to the team
