So hang on - how does the Duckman-Lewis Heimlich manouvre System work with this?

Football used to be such a straightforward game...

Its actually not that complicated.

1st and Second get a "second chance." They can lose there home and away tie and still make it to the final.

The winner of the home and away tie go's direct into the final.

All The other matches act like proper knockout matches.

So does the away goals rule count? And what about when the coach calls for a power play?

Does the joker card negate a power play and can you bring on pikachu as an impact player (assuming ser-viper has been suspended for setting fire to an opposition player)?

It seems that the finals series is based around the league finals series over here.. Which is equally as complicated and special.

Although it does allow us to qualify to the finals in 6th place, rather than having to be in 4th place which is a good start :)

ok , so it certainly seems that it is simpler than the rule for the use of apostrophes

Haven't gone to Journo school (yet - I start in Feb!). It's radio, therefore it's talking and so I don't need to worry about grammar :-P

It doesn't matter who we play, we are going to tear them limb from limb. Ifill is going to get the most amazing reception.

Let's just pray for another day of the same vintage as today and those before it. Hopefully if the weather plays it's part we will see the crowd that this unstoppable force (at home) deserves.

This guy has an anti-NZ obsession as seen on the Victory forum. Suspect he still hasn't forgiven NZ for kicking Oz out of the '82 World Cup. Either that or he once had a bad experience on a Air NZ flight.

Edit - Fixed quote tags

1. I was only 5 in 1982, the only game I remember is the final when Italy won.
2. Never flow Air-NZ.
3. My main reason for joining is that NZ is going through a similar phase to Australia in late-2005, where the game almost hinged on the play-off match. I'm interested to see how NZ handles it. We've got 4 years of good advice we can offer :)

That playoff system is crazy and definitely favours finishing in the top two, which could be arged is a good thing.
Tough on third, especially if it's only decided on Goal Diff. Finish third, win 2 games and you're still not in the final!

Yeah - bring back the toss of a coin to see who progresses to the next round should there be a draw in a knockout game

I'm working and they won't let me take the 2.5 hours off!

My better half is going though, forcing her to take a friend on my ticket to make up the numbers.

I'll be there, wonderful day. Perfect for the Phoenix. I'll say 3-0 again. Brown, Ifill, Dura to get his first goal. If the crowd isn't over 10k I don't know how we're going to get it up there. Great weather, team playing well, not too late, warm, everything looks good for a big crowd. Come on Phoenix !

How many of the fever still subscribe to the wearing of same clothes theory? Luckily the weather has been good so the clothing I worse on wednesday is good to go for today. Incidentally, the outfit is the same from gcu down to the socks.

Agreed very much, surely we will see a bumper crowd today. Not to mention all the Playoff news building up- that should hopefully rope a few more people down there.

I'm picking 2 nil, Ifill & Greenie to score them.

I've worn the same shoes jeans shirt headphones and scarf for every home game this season, and things aren't going too badly

When I see opposition teams in town I'm always tempted to throw in an (accidental) heel clip

thats what i thought too, 442 said paston returned from injury. my guess is bertos on the bench again. phoenix wbsite says:

Wellington Phoenix squad: 1. Mark PASTON (gk), 2. Manny MUSCAT, 3. Tony LOCHHEAD, 5. DIEGO, 6. Tim BROWN, 7. Leo BERTOS, 8. Paul IFILL, 9. Chris GREENACRE, 10. Michael FERRANTE, 11. DANIEL, 12. Jiang CHEN, 13. Troy HEARFIELD, 14. Adrian CACERES, 16. David MULLIGAN, 17. Vince LIA, 18. Ben SIGMUND, 20. Reece CROWTHER (gk), 21. Marco ROJAS, 22. Andrew DURANTE (c), 23. Costa BARBAROUSES

*five to be omitted*

In: Mark PASTON (gk, return from injury), DIEGO (promoted), Michael FERRANTE (promoted), Jiang CHEN (promoted),David MULLIGAN, Marco ROJAS

Out: Jonathan GOULD (gk, short-term injury cover)

lets hope ferrante doesnt get a run out!

3-0, first half Lia screamer, Ifill early in the second half (he'll kiss the badge), and Costa to wrap it up in injury time.
