It's not as if the Nix are showered with much.  I've seen hernandez score three goals and two of them would have used up a life times worth of jammy or good luck. I know life isn't fair but FFS !!

Well I would question any fan who states "We're losing, who cares?".

I'm sure you would, you're a numpty.

How do you work that out smart arse?

Everyone on here finds you tiresome Steve-O.  Including me.

I've debated with you in other threads but you're a miserable f**k who revels in seeing the negative in everything.  We all knew you'd be back posting large if we lost tonight.  We've been joking about you all week.

So it's not a case of working anything out.  This isn't a deduction.  I'm just calling a numpty a numpty.

Steve-O your credibility would be much higher if you had spent half as much energy posting this week when there were positives to talk about as you do after a loss when you like to get back to your ancestral roots and have a good whinge!

Well, a lot better 2nd half, but the game was pretty well over by then and you get the feeling Sydney could've moved up a gear again if need be.

That penalty retake decision was just crap - how often is that rule actually enforced? I'm pretty sure a Sydney player was first into the box too! Had that been given, then MAYBE we'd have had a chance of nicking a draw. Bad luck really, although Daniel's 2nd effort was terrible.

There seemed to be a huge gap in the middle of the park a lot of the time that Sydney dominated for most of the game.

Didn't actually think Greenacre was that bad, although might've done better with a couple of chances that he had.

I would be keen to see Costa start up front with Greenacre on Wednesday. Drop Bertos, have Ifill on the right. Sydney (and Costa himself to an extent) showed what can happen if you have a bit of pace up front, something Greenacre cannot provide.

Agree with Costa being pissed around.

I believe it was Durante that encroached, along with a glory player

fairly sure the sydney player was first so we get penalised twice for them cheating, and shannon cole with the professional foul in the box...a good ref would have let it stand...

Well, I've had enough. This Wednesday I will be trying hard out to lose my voice cheering our guys on in a positive way. They are probably all gutted with tonights effort.

You miss my posts last week did you?

I wasn't saying anything different to ANYONE else on the thread at the time we'd just gone 3-0 down.

I then questioned someone who apparently didn't care that we were losing. Sorry if that's so terrible - actually caring that the team is losing.

That was constructive and I have to agree with most of it. Although on the penalty Cole had a good chunk of Ifill's shirt and thats what I presume the pen was for so it seemed like more than a fair decision to me!

had the chance to score ugly and couldn't beat the keeper...

also, in our last game Danield scored making a near post run...no one else in this entire game seemed to make any near post runs yet that was where a lot of the crosses went...and too few players in the box at times, especially in the first half...though we were getting done everywhere then...

From memory he had just worked his arse off to get forward down the left in support of our attack both times. Got back but looked like our defence had it covered. Both tap ins came from poor defending down the right hand side, Muscat and Sigmund at fault, plus keeper in one of them.

thought the penalty was fair enough.  Ifill trying to get through an elbow held out wide and strong accross his chest.  can't hold a player like that (and the ball was there for a good shot)

beaten by sheer pace tonight and maybe a bit of overconfidence at the back - players were left real exposed with durante and/or siggy well up the park, and when we should have known they'd be a threat running at our wide backs.  Good side Sydney, maybe needed to show them a bit more respect?

up front i thought we created reasonably well against a good defense

Bit frustrating tonight, poor first half where Sydney took us apart (Corica offside though???), much improved 2nd half, thought Barbarouses made a hell of a good impact, lively and got in about them, great finish and that long range header was some fantastic skills...

Had enough chances to pull it back 2nd half, shame we didn't manage to play like that from kick off :(

Sydney are a good though, and play very well as they are a settled team.

well yep four players not being able to contain one at the near post...but he is a defender and someone has to mark players in the box. It's on his side at the back. Who should have been marking the free players if it wasn't him on the last two goals?

Not once but twice. Two soft soft goals.

Im pretty sure, for acouple of them he had to cover the center backs thus the simple tap ins.

Agree but point out once again they were not his fault. do we not defend on the right and then rely on Lochead to save us at the far post all the time? You are excusing the responsibility of several others if you say he was to blame. And both times there were 2 free players. Figure that one out.

well he can't have done a great job of that either then...I didn't think cover in the centre was the problem where players were marking turf well, it was at the back post...

edit: not excusing. just saying that we were down by 3-0 when sydney weren't that good, and the defence were at fault. Not marking at the back post on the left twice. Sure the ball carrier got round, but we hasd numbers int he box and not marking, with more players in the midfield drifting lazily back and not picking up blue shirts

can't agree that lochy had a great game. He had a good attackign game perhaps. But we lost 3-1./ I'd rather him have a good defensive game and we draw with the top team. he is a defender.

Well now I don't know whether you're arguing or agreeing with me

Anyhow it doesn't really matter. People have their blinkered opinion of me and I doubt that can be changed anytime soon. When my team win I am happy, when my team lose (or draw playing poorly), then I am not happy. No different from any other football fan that I am used to, but seems to cause all sorts of upset on here for some reason.

After last week I was as pleased as anyone else and I posted as much on here. This week after 35 minutes I wasn't so pleased, and I posted as much on here. Seems I am singled out for stating my opinion though. Ah well.

I feel we have got way ahead our ourselves.
I said during the week that by beating the G. Coast by 6 we would not be ourselves any good. They are a very poor side.
We were shown today that we are not as good as we think we are. The score could have been 5 or 6 one. We have some really good players, but we also have some that really should not even be on the park. Without naming them I am sure that everyone knows who they are. The worst aspect is that thay are AW's who will be playing on the 14th November.

I'm going to assume Smitty has had a bad night and taken it out on you Steve-O.  I disagree with a lot of what you had to say, and you probably were a bit tiresome early on, but I think in the last few weeks you've taken what people have had to say and seem to be a lot more constructive in your criticism.

Lochhead is not really at fault for the tap ins, when there is a break down the opposite side, and no defensive cover in the middle with more than one player to mark at back post, your only real option as a wing back is to take the middle and hope to cut out the cross, the odds of which are pretty low.  The fault lies more with those that have allowed the situation to develop.

Glad i missed it, but still disappointed i did... a very confusing thing.

We can not win every week, and indeed have not lost for a long time, so i will cut the boys some slack and say we ad an off night.

This is allowed, it happens, we don't like it, but it is life, and we all know it. So i don't get all this really negative angst.

Smithy / Steve O - save your petty arguements boys for the pub with a couple of beers, atleast that way 1 of two things will happen. You'll become friends and rib each other till the end of time, or one of you will get taught a lesson and we can all the rest of the forum) move on and stop reading the dribble which continually goes back and forth.

well I stand corrected by the technicians. But not marking in the box seems to me to be a cardinal sin whoever made it...twice. we had the numbers in the box twice to defend, just nowhere near the players in blue.

shades of season one after weeks of brilliance.

well I stand corrected by the technicians. But not marking in the box seems to me to be a cardinal sin whoever made it...twice. we had the numbers in the box twice to defend, just nowhere near the players in blue.

shades of season one after weeks of brilliance.

Still think Corica was offside when the first shot that Crowther saved was taken, and that Durante lost his man at the 3rd goal by drifting to the front post instead of sticking with the striker.
